We are going on one year of membership at AKV in Feb. and loving it - have two trips planned this year in April (AKV CL Studio!!) and November (AKV Value Studio), both with frequent flyer airfare, woo! Feel like we hit the jackpot this year.

With two trips, total of 12 days of possible park visits (and even if it's more like 10), and a potential for a trip to Vero coming in August with a possible side trip to the World, we thought it might be the right year for AP's. TIW is a no brainer for us as we've done both DDP and DxDDP before and thought it was a bargain but a lot of food and not necessarily our eating patterns (we like more apps and adult beverages, less desserts, and sometimes our son likes food on the adult menu).

Question: can we buy both DVC AP and TIW at MK ticket window when we arrive? Is there any benefit to buying in advance? I've searched but can't find these specific answers (or maybe I'm not a very good searcher) - so much appreciated!

Thanks!

:) I think ticket prices go up in August usually so people try to buy before then if increases are anticipated.

DH and I are able to make 3 trips on APs--the first was last month in Dec, this coming May and Oct. So we agree that the price could not be beat. We purchased the vouchers on line a couple months or so ahead of our Dec trip (maybe even longer), The first morning we checked into AKV, and went to AK since it was closest. We were almost first in line for turning our vouchers in--so he did that transaction and they expire 12/1/11. Then we purchased the $75 TIW (exp 12/31/11) card and he processed that second since we need our APs to get it. It took about 5 minutes and was very easy.

I am sure that they can do the same at any Guest Relation desk in any park and at DTD. It was so easy to just buy on line and then exchange them at the first park we visited.

We have done DDP before and think we came out pretty even with the TIW, only we got the selection we wanted in food and drinks, which made TIW great.

:) you also only need one AP for the TIW card--that might help with cost and allow you to get one MYYT and one AP. You can use the TIW card for up to 10 people at your table but I think the AP person has to be there.

Seems like DH and I both had to show either a DVC Member card or Driver's Licence to verify things at AK when were were getting the APs too.

Yes, its very easy to buy both at any guest relations window - only worry about pre purchase if that august price increase might come into play, which it won't for you with the first trip being in April. While you only need one ap, ild get them for both of you - makes it easier to just hit a park for a few hours If you feel like it without the worry of wasting a day! And if you can plan next years spring trip before your ap's expire that will save you even more. We always get at least 3 trips per ap - this year 4!

Thanks for all the great info - I think we'll buy AP's for all three of us - with two, possibly three (and who knows, maybe even four) trips coming up it should really pay off.

Just wanted to be sure we didn't have to do anything in advance and could just pop over to the ticket window when we arrive in April and take care of it then.

Happy travels and stay warm everyone! We are freezing our tails off here in the northeast and very much looking forward to vacation. :yay:
