We have a contract on BLT that should be arriving today for signatures. At the time that we put $ down, the incentive was free 2009 points at our home resort and $5 off per point. That incentive expired yesterday.

Has anyone spoken to a Guide this morning to see what the incentives are now? If they are better, my understanding is that we can take advantage of the new offer. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!
Lisa

There may not be any new (or continuing) incentives; if an incentive expires it is not necessarily replaced with another. If your contract didn't arrive as of yet, those incentives will most likely be stated on the contract & honored but you need to speak to guide so you know for certain so your best bet is to give guide a call and here is link to info on pricing / incentives from dvcnews which is good source, try this link

Good luck :goodvibes

Disney plays the game both ways.

Sometimes they will come out with new incentives right away if they want to keep the sales momentum up.

Other times I have seen them wait several weeks to invoke a feeling of loss. This reinforces the idea that the incentives are temporary and causes more people to buy so they don't lose out on the special deal.

Hi Neighbor. Welcome Home!

When you get your paperwork, make sure you read the section on cancelation. I think it is 30 days, but I'm not sure when that clock starts ticking. If incentives get better during that time frame, you could cancel this contract and buy a different one.

Thanks for the info... I think we got a decent deal, but it never hurts to ask if something better has come along before we finalize everything.

I received a flier in the mail today.

Current members adding on at least 100pts at AKV or GCH can have choice of either 4 WDW annual passes or DL annual passes.

New members adding on at least 160 can have 8 WDW annual passes or DL annual passes. Offer expires 1/31/2010. Full cost per point.

I am very torn. Need to get a little more money put away before adding on. But, I do like this deal better than 2 WDW passes and 2 DL passes.:)

I'm certain this is a stupid question, but the 8 passes promo, that's a one time thing right, not 8 free annual passes for the life of the points, right?

Received this today too. It's too bad that BLT is not part of this offer; BLT sales seem to be moving along well enough without much in way of incentives.

:)

Just a one time offer. The DL passes must be redeemed by June 30, 2011. The WDW passes say may be redeemed any time. Both are good for 1 year from the time redeemed.

The flier says nothing about BLT any where on it. Not even the very little small print.:confused3

You have another neighbor, we just bought DVC and live in Hinsdale.

Does anyone know if the 8 annual passes have to be immediate household? My sister is interested in buying and we are going down for a quick trip end of January. We(her family and mine) are all going back in June. She has 5 in her family and four in mine. Any chance she can get 3 annual passes for my family?? I can hope right!

:confused3 I'm not good at interpreting all the legalese but the flier states that :

" Certificates are non-transferrable, non-assignable, and may not be sold, traded, transferred, encumbered, bequeathed, bartered, refunded, or redeemed for cash and shall be void if sold or otherwise transferred for cash or other consideration. " Now whether this means that only people in the same household/family of the purchasing member are eligible, I don't know....jmho but I'd think ~maybe~ if a purchaser doesn't have 8 in their immediate family then maybe it would be allowed to give Certificates to extended family. It does state that Certificates for WDW passes can be redeemed at any time, no cut-off date is given for redemption of WDW Certificates ( only DLR passes must be redeemed by June 30 2011 ) so I don't know? could that then mean if purchasing family is only a family of 4 for example if they can redeem 4 only and then when those passes expire they can redeem the remaining 4. It is best to call guide and ask.

This is important to note : Certificates for passes will NOT be issued if financing for as many as 17 months. The flier states the following

" ......if financing, make monthly loan installments and be in good standing on their Membership for up to 17 months (based on down payment and length of loan) before receiving their 8 WDW pass or 8 DLR pass Certificates."

For add-on Certificates for passes may not be issued for up to 14 months if financing depending upon down payment & length of loan.

Good luck & hope you'll post back if you find out any more details.

Does anyone know if you would get the passes if you bought a contract at SSR? Is it ONLY for AKV in WDW?

I asked by guide just YESTERDAY (before seeing this) if there were any free AP incentives going on and he said no.

Offer states only AKV at WDW and Villas Grand Californian at DLR. No mention of SSR ( or BLT ).

Thanks 5forDiz for posting that. They wouldn't be financing so that part is good, but I too would wonder about a family of four being able to redeem 4 and then 4 another time. That would be a good incentive. Now that I think about it, maybe we should have them add on to our contract instead! We are close and since it would be a new contract we could sell them that contract at a later date. I wonder if I can add on and add other parties to the contract. Say me and my sister do an add on (since I am already a member). Hmmm!

Does anyone know if there is an incentive to just go get a tour these days? We are doing a five night , no park at SSR in a week and a half so I think my Sis and BIL will probably like to do a tour if there is any incentive to do one (a gift card or something) Thanks!

I received the promo mailing yesterday and it sounds like they give you AP vouchers for WDW, which would mean they would never expire and could be redeemed whenever you want. If that is truly the case then if you got 8 of them it wouldn't matter how or when you used them.

What also isn't clear is whether they would consider past financing history for current owners vs. requiring you to go through the waiting period before receiving the APs. For example, if you bought 3 years ago and financed your contract(s) and are in "good standing" is that counted toward the waiting period or will you have to start the clock again? If somebody talks to their guide please ask this question.
