Hi Everyone!

I have been lurking since May 2008 and for some reason decided to just sign up today. I am one of the many obsessed with the DIS boards. We are going on our first trip with the kids November 9-15, staying at POR. I have been driving everyone I know crazy talking about our plans.

Just excited and would love to hear any advice from anyone!!!

Michele

Welcome To The Boards Hope You Have A Wonderful Time Here I Noticed Your Avatar Is The Same As Mine ;)

Advice for first trip with the kids .... don't try to get too much done in a day. Your children are still young enough to accept it all as magic and not try to look behind the magic. Also, if your budget can afford it, pre-purchase the photo-pass cd and get dozens and dozens pf photo's. Some with just Mom and Dad, some of just the kids, and even a few of individuals. Heck, it's the same price if you get 30 pictures or 100 pictures! An expensive luxury, but we were glad we did it at least once. Have a magical vacation!

thanks for the advice Hendies... i've been thinking about the photopass cd! where are you in upstate NY? we're in Rush, just south of Rochester.

we Michele's with one "l" are so rare! Where in Ohio are you? I was born in Lorain, lived in Sheffield Lake until I was four.

WELCOME!!!!!:)

One bit of advice. When you are in line for the monorail ask the CM if you can sit up front with the driver. You might have to wait for another monorail if a family has asked before you. This is an awesome experience for the kids to sit up front. Make sure they ask for a pilots license. Have a blast!!

Enjoy every minute of your trip!!! AND just go with the flow...the kids will get tired and try not to push them, you'll enjoy yourself much more!!:goodvibes

I've been worried about how tired everyone gets on a trip. We went to Cedar Point for 3 days last summer as a "let's try this before we attempt Disney" trip and the kids were pretty worn out after just 3 days! I told them the other day that I wanted them to go to bed earlier than usual (8:30) to rest up for vacation and they looked at me like I'm crazy.

I'm also worried about the whole "we spent all this money and now you're crying and miserable" thing.

I guess I need to chill out and stop worrying and just enjoy the magic:cloud9:

I'm in Lima, Ohio...it's NW Ohio on I-75 between Toledo and Dayton. DH's mom used to live in North Olmsted. My son is Colin again one "l". Had to keep the one "l" thing going.

Welcome to the board.:) I can relate to how excited you are going on your first trip with your family. My first trip was in december last year and i loved it.I think going in december makes it even more magic because of the christmas decorations and everything that goes on.They also have mickeys very merry christmas party!!! LOVED IT!!! Almost as much as my son lol but he was in it for all the coco and cookies he could get lol.You will have a great time im sure of it.But dont make the same mistake i did i let my husband make all the plans and we run around disney.Did alot and seen alot but i dont want to go to disney to rush to do everything i want to go to relax have fun and enjoy the rides and everything with my little monsters:) .Enjoy your trip:wizard:
