New In-room Radios at SSR

As we were enjoying sleeping in this morning for the first time to catch up on rest on morning nine of our ten day vacation, we were awakened by housekeeping banging on the door. Knowing it wasn't day 4 or 8 (cleaning days), I couldn't imagine what they wanted. Unfortunately, they weren't able to speak english well enough to tell me what they wanted either. They basically pushed their way through the door (with people still lying in both beds) to take our old radio and plug in a new one. The good news is, it truly looks like a 21st century radio/alarm/IPOD connection! So, not happy how it was done, but very happy we can plug the IPOD into the radio and play it while we're in the room.

I can't believe it's taking this long to get them all in rooms! They were replacing radios when we were there 2 weeks ago!

The radios are iHome clock/radio/docks. They have an adjustable iPod dock plus an input for other MP3 players. There have been questions about how they work with the iPhone 3G. The dock will charge the 3G but it is not designed to play audio from it reliably. To play audio without interference, you have to turn the phone's airplane mode feature on. (I didn't try playing any music in either mode.)

We had one of the new ones at our two bedroom villa in CP @ SSR last week. Never used it though.

Not in lockoff studio # 8236 at SSR yet... We just checked out of that villa today and it still had a dumpy old fashioned $20 clock radio... Must be a slow process to change them all out.

Awwww Annie I really hate it too when I read about upgrades here and then a villa we get is still in the dark ages ( ) ...... well, something to look forward to on the next trip

I posted all about it on the thread that John from OL started on Fri. when we left (he was saying his Hail Mary's that he could pass the Annie test)! Anyway, it was great, the packing cubes were great, the space bags for dirty laundry were great, SSR was great...everything was great 'cept we had to leave to come home today!! I plan to post more about our trip but can't right now...DS has summer swim team registration at 7:00 AND WE CAME HOME TO 55 degree temps!!! Gotta run!

I posted all about it on the thread that John from OL started on Fri. when we left (he was saying his Hail Mary's that he could pass the Annie test)!
