New In-Park Quest Information

My cousin just got back from WDW and got to ride Pirates as a soft opening. In the queue line for it she found 5 VMK posters. Brand new and said on them "Arghh If it's treasure you be seeking, you can to the right place" It showed a character using Treasure Finder Magic, A room that looked like the one inside the Pearl, and The two new pirate costumes. She asked a CM about this and he said that quest will be part of this ride. She was sad that she couldnt do it since it was not realesed yet. She is sending me a pic and ill post it here.

Computer games are attacking our classic rides! I don't like that thought at all... VMK is supposed to promote WDW, WDW isn't supposed to promote VMK. If they even try to bring VMK into rides like Peter Pan's Flight, or It's A Small World, the fur will start to fly!! lol.

oh pirates is only in a soft opening mode.....Is it for everyone or just aps and cms? I heard it was open and now i am scared. I guess i have to make my own pirates ride....

Pirates is open for everybody not a soft opening for the next 5 days. It will be closing again the evening of the 30th and will be down until July 1 when it reopens with Jack Sparow and Barbosa in it. They are doing the refurbishment in 2 stages and the first is already completed. Operations department wanted it open for the spring break season.

Does anyone know if there's a soft opening for Pirates at DLR? My friend really loves that ride but I told her we shouldn't go till July since it won't be open till then But I hate to visit So-Cal when the weather is so hot! *ducks* Although, it would mean another quest... hmmm...

Yes, we were down at WDW from 4/8/06 - 4/17/06 and a CM told us it was open for spring break. Didn't see any posters in line. We went to the left side, maybe they were in the right side line or they were not up yet. I didn't notice too much diffent so far. The room with the buildings on fire looked different to me and nothing else.

We will be going back in August. Can't wait to see the final version with Jack Sparrow. And new quest items are always a good thing.

it is much like EE was, she is a DVC member so idk if it has to do with anything, she said people were justh getting on. She was walking in Adventureland when she saw people just walking in. There was not a big crowd because when she got off she was given a survey to fill out about the ride. I think she was one of the first

If you are asking why I don't like the idea of video games becoming apart of those classic rides I know and love so much, it is because I found WDW to be a place were I could enjoy some good old fashion family vacations. As much as I like VMK and all, I don't want to see it everywhere. I know it makes sense for it be in Disney, but they should let it stay within the old theater building (vmk central). I know computer games and such are starting to grow in popularity as years go on but, I just like to keep some things as they were. It will sort of depress me as I walk into a line queue and see signs up about computer/video games. I don't know, but there is something about that old time "magic" and memories. Brining VMK to Disney is one thing, but making it become apart of the rides, the classic rides, is simply too much for my liking. There are already too many places in this world that reference computer technology and video games, I would really hate to see WDW become a place of virtual life. This obviously is just my honest opinion and I don't know how many people here may agree with me as I am sure most are just so happy to see vmk taking over the "world" one step at a time...

I'm planning on going over there in the next couple of days and will try to look for the posters. I was there 2 weekends ago and there was nothing on the left line. I guess I may have to ride it twice to look at both sides.
