The last cruise we were on, I asked one of the concierge CMs if Disney could keep one room from being booked and turn it into an "Escape room". Can you imagine the themes Disney could use? If you are interested in something like this, what theme would you suggest?

DH & I LOVE escape rooms. I think there is one on the NCL ship we're sailing next year and I'm excited to try one at sea. DCL could easily pull off an Alice in Wonderland theme, Pirates theme or something Villains themed would be fun!

The NCL experience is escape room-like. There are stations set up in a lounge, all themed on a specific theme, and the first team to open the locked box with the appropriate combination wins. It is a competition between maybe 5 or 6 teams. There are some videos played througout the 45 minutes you have to finish the game to help the teams by giving them clues.

Based on that concept, DCL has plenty of IPs that could work well.

I was gonna say either Villains or Pirates (especially for pirate night)

Interesting! Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to giving it a try :goodvibes

A couple of indoor staterooms used for an escape room would be ideal since most of us all want at least a window in case we get Covid trapped!

Disney has so many themes it can draw on for an escape room. When we were on a WBTA a few years ago, the excursions desk had a number of scavenger hunts that were great fun and included the entire ship. For example, they had a series of small, hand-held cards with 10 small photos and two lines under each. The photos were of small parts of something bigger (i.e. uniforms, artwork (2 sets on this theme), chairs and carpets). You pick one up and try to find each subject and write down what was in each photo and where you found it. Then you sign the card with stateroom # and turn it in by 10 pm to the same desk. Your winning card goes into a pot where a super winner is chosen and you get a special gift on your bed the next night. I know this isn't an escape room challenge, but it does get you out of your room and you have a chance to walk off the great food you ate too much of the day before. This was on the Magic, where there is no Detective Agency challenge, but this was a hard, fun game that kept us busy.
It might be easier to do an escape room in the kids' area for DCL. We have done them and they are very cool.

I'd totally do it but hope that it is just a thing you sign up for (maybe on the Wish?) and not an upcharge thing. But recognize that is not super realistic.
