I'm sorry I cannot find the post but there was a post somewhere that talked about the new hotels that are opening around DL. One was Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance (with the nice waterpark) and the other was a Homewood Suites Convention Center. Are there any others opening or can you direct me to a post discussing this? TIA.

Thanks for bringing up this topic, that new Holiday Inn is opening just before my stay and includes breakfast - I may switch over there!

Has anyone stayed at the Courtyard yet? I've read tripadvisor and sounds good but just some growing pains. My question is will I even use the waterpark March 1? I guess we'll have to see what the weather does. Also curious to see what pricing will be at the Hyatt House Convention Center. I've been watching their website to see but they're not taking reservations yet.

If doing Homewood suites I would walk the 5 to 10 minutes to Toy Story lot. It is what my plan was for December but I just switched to DLH for a split stay. I think the location is awesome.

Be aware if you are planning to book at the new Holiday Inn Express that they are very behind schedule. They were originally supposed to open in August and now they are not accepting reservations until December. They kept delaying their opening date, but continued to assure people on their Facebook page that they would be open in time. Well, they're not. There are a few of us on these boards who had reservations for October and we're now scrambling to make other hotel arrangements. Very frustrating.

Sorry, one more question. Do you think any of these new hotels will get added as "good neighbor" hotels? Don't know how that works and was curious because of a package I'm looking at on costco.

Honestly good neighbor hotels don't really mean anything as they don't get any onsite perks. Basically it usually means they have access to Disneyland Tickets and is somewhat recommended by Disneyland.
I've stayed so many places as an AP holder and really it's just mentioned when they have affiliations or packages with local hotels. It's never a gurantee to be any better or worse.

The new courtyard has said that it takes a year to go through the process to become a Good Neighbor hotel. So any new hotels this year or next won't have that status right away.

I noticed the Hyatt House has updated their website to "opening first quarter 2016" instead of "december 2015"
