New Hoop De Doo Seating Assignment

You still have 3 different categories, The big difference is that some people will phone 180 days in advance to get in the two first rows in front of the stage for Cat #1. I am confused and I talked to disney on the phone twice. This is just what they said so all we can do is figure out how they might do it. I cannot figure out their logic but will sure not lose any sleep over it.

After reading the posts and looking at the seating chart, I realized that this is probably what you meant. I see what you mean...it seems odd :confused3.

I think the reasoning is just so they can fill in all available space for each show. Why make somone sit on the balcony if the floor is half empty? I went in May with Cat 2 seating for the late show, and I ended up sitting right up front. :thumbsup2

This sounds confusing to me. When we went to see the show, we paid by category. So it didn't matter, because you got seated according to what you paid and your category. I haven't done the show in a couple of years but was thinking again for this year. Do they have one set price now? or do you still pay by category? I would hate to pay to be closer to stage and then get seated far back in a different category :scared1:.

The problem they are finding here may be that some Category 1 seats are not as close to the stage as others. They're still Category 1 but some book that category anticipating a front row table. I'm thinking that now if you want the best shot at a front row table, you have to pick up your tickets early.

Another issue is if this is one of your early reservations for your trip, how can you pick up your tickets early. Totally not fair when booked so far in advanced!!

After seeing this post I called because I have a reservation in October. I know we don't all get the same answer from different CMs LOL, but I did ask about this.

She told me that it's always been assigned as your order date not your pick up date and that it hasn't changed. But who knows. Clearly there's an issue here.

My family is going to WDW for the first time in just a few weeks, and we are planning on making reservations for The Hoop Dee Doo. Is category 1 really much better than 2 or 3? The date and time we prefer has only category 3 available, but if we go earlier we could snag a better seat. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi I just made ressie for Sept 28 the last of August.:thumbsup2 We were told we can pick up ticket 7 days in advance,:) and we are Cat 1, party of 4 adults, so I will post after that to let everyone know where we sit. Would be great for us if up front, but not for one that reserved way ahead.:confused3

I just picked up our tickets today, 7 days in advance to Sept 30, 830pm Show with Cat 1 seating. As I stated in previous post I made the ressie for Cat 1 seating the end of August and we have Table 44 in Cat 1, which is 4 row 4 table from the left. I think we did really good. So I think it is still when you order the tickets, cause I picked them up this morning at 745 am. :) Hope this helps! :)
