New here, need reassurance

Considering I've never even heard that about birds -- you would be fine in my book.

I guess if you have never heard the tale, it wouldn't affect you huh?

It's similar to the girl who was shocked we had never heard you are supposed to hold your breath when you go past a cemetary. I was *so* confused when she was telling us that -- I grew up near a cemetary -- we even walked through it as a shortcut to the city pool. I was perplexed when she said it & I told her she was a bit freaked out about all of that.

Yes.. This was an old wive's tale that my grandmother told me - in relation to something that happened when she was younger..

I'm kind of surprised that more people here haven't heard of it..:)

What does it mean when a bird gets in Walmart? Because every time I go there, there's at least one bird flying around. :lmao:

You know, this one puzzles me too. My DD16 and all her friends hold their breaths when we pass a cemetary. Sometimes I drive by reeeeeeaaaaaalllllll slow, haha. We used to play on the outskirts of an old, old cemetary. No one ever lead me to believe that would be dangerous. We weren't harming or desecrating graves. If anything I would think all the elderly ghosts might enjoy watching the children playing.

OP, a bird in the house means you have an opening in your roof, thats all. When I was a kid my parents were convinced that sending a Poincettia to someone at Christmas would cause them to die  Why, you ask? Because TWICE they sent poincettias to elderly, cancer-ridden relatives and they up and kicked the bucket within a week. :sad2: I have sibs who TO THIS DAY will not allow poincettias in their homes for that reason.

So there you go. You can have birds or you can have poincettias. Either way, we're all gonna die:upsidedow
