Planning on going to WDW April 11-14th 2011. I have reservations at SOG. I haven't decided on what parks yet. I know we want to do MK and Universal (so we can see Harry Potter world). We have 2 other days (park hoppers). Any suggestions? Will have 2 adults and 2 kids 10 and 13.

Also, staying at SOG will we be able to use the magic hours?

TIA!

Yes you sure can use the extra magic hours a SOG.

I definitely think you should try to see all 4 Disney parks, but if this isn't possible, IMHO you should try to at least make it to Epcot and DHS with kids your age--especially if they like rides!

Don't forget dining reservations for any table service meals you want to have. If you need dining recommendations, there's all kinds of advice on here!

Have a great trip!!

Thanks! I thought I heard that about SOG but then couldn't find it again.

I wish I had more time, but 4 days is it. Possibly have 1/2 a day on the 10th. We will be driving over from Daytona Beach (going to a family reunion type bday party). Anyone know how long that drive is? I heard it was two lane hwy. and takes about 2 hrs. is that about right?

Kids are definitely into the rides. We have done Disneyland/CA Adventure several times. Kids really want to see HP at Universal.

:welcome:

At 10 & 13 I would also recommend DHS & Epcot. They might find AK a little boring.
Don't worry about having only 4 days, you can get it all done! Steal some energy from your kids if you get tired.
As for the drive to Daytona, the last time we did it was in 2006 and I do seem to think it was around the 2 hr mark.
Are you staying in Daytona while you visit WDW or are you staying closer?

We will be staying at SOG. We will be leaving for Daytona on Friday morning.

Does anyone know how long it takes the monorail from the Poly to get to the parks? TIA

I just caught where you were staying in your first post, sorry. I swear I still have baby brain sometimes even though my youngest is already 14 months.

Are you looking to find out how long the monorail ride is to MK or Epcot?
I found a transportation calculator at
http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx
And it says that the monorail from Poly to MK is 13 mins and the monorail from Poly to Epcot is 45 mins.
I don't remember either ever taking this long but I could very well be wrong.
When you are taking the monorail to Epcot you will need to take the monorail to the TTC from the Poly and then transfer over to the express monorail to Epcot.

If you are staying at the SOG, the monorail would take you from the Poly to the MK; however, you would have to transfer to the other rail line to go to EPCOT. DHS is bus service.

While there are many "kiddie" rides in MK there are also the three "mountains" that are very grown up, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain. And don't forget Pirates of the Caribbean which stars Cap'n Jack Sparrow!

DHS has Tower of Terror and Rock 'n Roller Coaster which are very exciting. AK now has Expedition Everest and the Safaris, if your kids are into animals at all.

Ultimately, it's a decision that you would have to make as to suit all of your family's likes and dislikes.
