Hello all,

My name is Julie and I just signed up today. I love the board and am glad that I have finally signed up! Everyone seems so nice and full of great tips and info. I have dreamed of a Disney wedding since I was seven and now all my dreams are coming true...

This past January on a family vacation, Andrew proposed to me right next to the castle by the wishing well. The whole week vacation felt like a celebration and made our engagement feel so speical. We now have the date for our wedding on January 18, 2008 at the WP with a GF ballroom reception. Then we are off for a 7-day Disney cruise! Anyways...now I am planning and so glad to be able to share that process with everyone here.

I just wanted to tell anyone looking for more DISNEY DRESS INFO...I will actually be going down for the special trunk show in Orlando May 13th to try them on (wahoo!). I don't know if I can take pics but I would love to share with everyone what these dresses acutally look like in person, the web is hard to tell.

As far as questions for you guys I had a couple...

1. Is there a fee added on top of the final bill for using Disney Wedding planning services for the actual coordinator/planner?

2. Are there any other "hidden fees" that anyone encountered that they didn't expect

3. On the whitehall patio for cocktail hour is there a sound system of some sort to play a cd instead of hiring musicians for that time?

4. Has anyone ever had or know if Disney can do a fake/faux cake?

5. I'm using Randy Chapman, by himself can he really capture every picture that is important? My cousin seems to think i need 2 photographers.

Thanks a bunch!!!

Congrats! Welcome to DIS
Happy Wedding planning! Congrats on what you have done so far! :cheer2:

There are no additional fees for using a coordinator. They are paid through your package price and everyone uses a coordinator through their planning process.

The only "hidden fees" that seem to come up arent hidden but rather unexpected. There seems to be set-up fees and such. You might ask your coordinator about them.

5. I'm using Randy Chapman, by himself can he really capture every picture that is important? My cousin seems to think i need 2 photographers.
Randy DOES seem to capture all of the magic and then some. I dont think you will need two photographers whatsoever. What you might consider looking into is using Stan with STVS for videography. He works really well with Randy and they both do phenomenal jobs. If you'd like to see sample work from Randy (my photos) i'd love to share them with you. Im sure that Diane (happylalagirl) wouldnt mind showing you her video from Stan either.

GL and Congratulations!! Happy Planning!

Maggimus hit the nail on the head! I have no doubt that Randy will be able to capture everything I want and more. He has an incredible reputation!

The only other thing I might add is there are fees you would never think about, such as because my cake is being made at GF but served at YC, there is a $115 delivery fee

Also, the centerpieces...you are renting the vases or whatever you use and you can not give them away at the end. And do not rely on the wishbook pricing. It gives a good snap shot of the minimums but it is not something to base your budget on.

Hello - just wanted to welcome you to the boards - if you would like to look at my trip report Allison and Josh Nov 10 - you can see some of our Randy Chapman pics and I belive they are still on his site as well. He also did our engagements and we were more than pleased!!! I even want to have him do some family pictures when Josh and I have kids!!!!
