I took my daughter on a DCL trip in June and we officially have the Disney bug BAD!!! We are booked on another DCL trip in June with an added Disneyland trip. Now I am thinking of canceling the Disneyland portion (not the cruise though) and taking her to see the Mouse for Christmas. My money is somewhat tight but isn't that what credit cards are for? ha, ha.

Has anyone used Expedia to make a reservation? I found a pretty good deal for a week trip from 12/24-12/31. It is for the Coronado Resort and the week Magic pass. (My best friend tells me Christmas is the worst time to go but I think it would be neat.)

Also, I already told her there won't be many goodies to buy since we bought everything the ship sold this summer. How much would I budget for food?

I guess I am looking for "go for it girl"! But I would like more info. since I have done little research today. I do have a bad back and know that the resort is huge. Any info. you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a Magical day!:wizard:

WDW is beautiful at Christmas :santa: . The only draw back is that it is very, very crowded. We've been during the week between Christmas and New Years once and are going back this year  .

Just plan for crowds if you decide to go. Good luck with your decision.

Hubby and I are non drinkers and we eat our big meal at breakfast or lunch. We budget $55 per person per day for food, snacks, etc. If you drink or eat appetizers, would would need to increase that amount.

We're going Dec 17-27.

Have you looked at the Dining Plan ? We booked that just to make it all easier. It's about 40.00 for ages 10 and up and 11.00 for ages 3-9.

You get 1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 Snack per day per person

I would go for it. This will be our first time at Disney for Christmas and we can't wait.

There are alot of folks who love the week between Christmas and New Year's
BECAUSE of all the people and excitement. Just be patient and you will
maneuver(sp?) it just fine. :thumbsup2

I would just add that if you are even remotely considering this, you may want to think about booking some ADR's as soon as you can. If they don't work arouond your final schedule you can cancel them, but at least you'd have something. The more popular places book up fast that time of year.

Have a great trip!:santa:

We were going to do a family Christmas trip, thinking about how fun that would be. And then I started researching it....and reading about the crowds.

It is THE busiest week at Disney--the parks often close due to overcrowding. You may not even be able to get dinner reservations at this point.

Considering going the week before Christmas and leaving on the 23rd, which is what we did. Several benefits:

1) Value season for the resorts...your room rate will be much cheaper.

2) NO lines anywhere, which means you can ride whatever you want, whenever you want. Even twice in a row.

3) Easy access to restaurants (if you don't have ADRs already for that week, then good luck to you!)

4) Did I mention no lines? I have read that during Christmas week, you often have to wait up to 30 minutes...to get into the bathroom! :scared1:

You should research a little more before you do this...the 2008 Unofficial Guide is a good place to start; they have a crowd calendar that will help you. If you DO decide to go this week, you will need to religiously follow a touring plan. Oh, I'm stressed just thinking about it!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck!
