new here but not new to weight loss

hey all...i'm new to disboards but not to the weight loss thing...i am 32 years old, have two children elizabeth (5) and dominick (4), they were born 13 months and 10 days apart so the weight just came on and didn't have time to lose it till one day i woke up and said "i'm going out for a walk!!!" which was october 6th, 2001...i have lost 62 pounds total...i was 187 at my highest (after the kids where born) and now am 125 pounds!!!! went from a size 14 to a size 4 and i feel terrific!!!!

i am a weight watcher and although i'm below goal range and have been below it for over a year now (lost the total weight from october 6th, 2001 to mid-winter 2002) i still journal everyday, workout everyday and watch pretty much everything i eat...

i guess what i'm saying here is can i still join this great group for support and tips to keep the weight off? i'd appreciate it!!!
 
Of course you can join! We need people like you that have hit goal and are maintiaining! You're info can be very valuable to share with us. Thansk for offering! WELCOME to WISH and WELCOME to the DIS!

Have you heard about WISHCon 2005? Find the thread entitled (may eb backa page or two) that and read! We're planning on walking the WDW marathon in Jan/ 2005! So far we have about 35 DISers signed up- that does not include their families! We'd love to have you join us! If you click on the link under my name you will be sent to our new WISHWalkers website- that'll give you a general idea of what were are planning to do!
 
hi bearapples! welcome to our group! i'm a WW and would love to have a maintainer lurking about our posts and sharing advice and suggestions! Join in some of our challenges too if you'd like!

Maybe this will inspire a WISH "maintaining" clippie! I'm not a fan of the word "Goal" even though it's a beautiful clippie. I know my weight will fluctuate and I don't want to get stuck on a number. I think it's a never-ending journey and maintaining is just part of it, hopefully the last leg!

thanks for the welcome! and the marathon seems to peak my interest...i read some about it just now and i am intriged...when do you need to know if i'm in?

Welcome to the WISH Board. Like Beanie mentioned, this is a great place for support and encouragement. I'm seriously considering joining the othere WISHers in the marathon in 2005. It would be nice to see you there.
 
bearapples71, welcome to WISH! Of course you can join us even though you are at goal! WISH stands for "We are inspired to stay healthy". So you see, it's not ALL about weight loss, but about being and staying healthy! Right now, for me, it happens to be about losing weight, and getting healthy along the way. Once I get there, I want to stay there...like you! You have lost so much weight, and I am excited to hear about how you are maintaining it. You are still doing your journaling, so that must be a key for you. I am excited to have you here with us!

I have been a member for about 2 weeks now, and I have learned a LOT on this Board.;) Tell us your Secret for keeping it all off!;) And, Congrats and WELCOME!:D
 
bearapples- you can "sign up" anytime. Right now , there is no money commitment at all. That probably won't happen until sometime next year- probably around Feb or March when they start taking ressies for the 2005 marathon. For now, people are signing up so they can get themselves in shape and have an additional goal to set. If you'd like we can put you on the list and mark you as tenative. At least your name would be on the list and it might encourage you to move towards that goal! Just let us know!
