Hi everyone. I'm from Northants, UK and I am completely overwhelmed! I want to visit but I don't know where to begin! Hoping I can pick up a few tips on how to get a good deal because everywhere I've looked so far seems sooo expensive!

Liz :-)

:welcome:

You've definitely come to the right place! Everyone is very helpful here. You'll find lots of great information. Good luck planning your trip! :disrocks:

I will be glad to sacrifice and volunteer to come with you as your tour guide!:rotfl:
welcome. check out the UK threads, and the codes and rates thread. there's all kinds of deals to be had. buy and "Unofficial Guide to Disney". the mantra is : stay ONSITE. take advantage of the extra magic hours (if not, then avoid those parks those days). use the fast passes. if possible, be there for park opening. now, I am NOT a morning person, but you can "knock off" tons before the crowd gets there. (esp. on extra magic mornings, esp at MK)
have SO MUCH FUN!!!!!:wizard:

Welcome and you will be able to find great money savers on boards. Good luck and I hope you get to go soon :goodvibes

:yay:
Hello and welcome to the Dis you will have a fantastic time in Disney keep a look out for offers as it can be very expensive.:thumbsup2

Hello from VA, USA. It does seem expensive but I have done it several different ways, and don't forget that right now, although the US dollar is beginning to gain some, that the pound is worth 2X as much as the dollar, meaning that if the quote you receive is in dollars it is about half that! Also, I make a down payment and then pay some every month on the balance so it doesn't hit me all at once.

You'll get here! WDW is my favorite place to visit!

:welcome: :jumping1:

Never been to Disney!?:faint: As my neighbor, Debbie stated above, you will
find the ways to stretch your pound and have the best vacation of your life.
Half the fun is in the planning. You know what the best part is? It's all in front
of you. Have a blast! :goodvibes

Hi - we are looking forward to our first visit to WDW in Nov. Lot of good info here thanks

Mike

The closest I have ever been to Disney is the Disney Store in Reading :rotfl: I have never been to a Disneyland Park either (I don't even have a passport yet!) but we are hoping to go for my birthday next year. Hoping to pick up some tips from here along with my Brits Guide to DLP :wizard:

We'll go to DLP as it's not quite as hot! I don't like the heat!

:welcome: It is very expensive... I'll agree with that 100% but there are great resources like mousesavers.com and the codes and rates section of disboards. When I was in Europe I thought everything there was so expensive... well at least in England and France... Greece wasn't too terrible. The only way I can afford going to WDW is from my AAA discount and a lot of time saving. Our last trip was heavily financed by my generous and loving parents, but for our trip in December of 2009 we need to save $4000 to cover the trip reservation and food/alcoholic beverages and tips for 8 days. Both of us are students too... it's worth having to cut back on everyday life just to save for WDW though

I am wondering what the demographics are of first-time visitors to Disney parks. I suspect travel companies who market primarily to those demographics would be the most help to you in making sure that you have a good tme at a good price. When my household was booking our trip, we were too early for Disney's package deals because those generally don't start more than six months ahead of time according to our travel agent.
