My H and I are taking my 3 yr old daughter to WDW the week prior to Christmas for three full days. I have purchased the regular dining plan (1 QS, 1 TS and 1 snack per day).

I invision us doing a TS meal the Monday evening that we arrive, TS meals the next three nights and a nice breakfast before we leave on that Friday afternoon (probably at the Contemporary where we are staying-Breakfast with Mickey.) I also want to do the Breakfast at the castle one morning.

Would you say that the deluxe dining plan is in our best interest if we are going to be doing all of this?

I would say so. You're already talking about doing 6 TS meals which is more than you'll be given with your dining plan. The deluxe plan would allow you to do all of those meals, and probably leave extra.

I wish there was an in between plan that gave 2 TS meals per day.

Just a note too, be sure that you know your dining plan is based on the number of nights you stay. :goodvibes

Right! So we have 4 nights at the resort....5 TS meals planned, one that takes two TS meals. So....7 TS meals. Should we just pay OOP or jump to the Deluxe meal plan?

We have 5 month old twins so it's been a very long time since we have sat down and enjoyed a meal together. This is important to us when we take her on her special vacation without her brother and sister.

Thanks for the good vibes. lol- : )

6, not 7. (You're double-counting one.)

The usual rule-of-thumb is that DxDP starts to make sense if you are using at least 2/3 of the credits for TS. Right now, you'd be using 1/2 (6 out of 12), so I'd say you might be better off paying OOP for two meals (pay OOP for yourself at CRT, OOP for your daughter at 2 other locations). If you want to add another character breakfast or two, or maybe some TS lunches, then DxDP might start to make sense.

You could stay with the basic and pay out of pocket for Chef Mickey's breakfast. It is the most reasonable to pay for. We have done that before. :)

Breakfasts are always cheaper than lunch!
I think the deluxe plan is just too much food for us.

I think the count of 7 was correct because they are talking about 4 dinners and two breakfasts, one of which would be 2 table service meals.

I love the deluxe plan. You would not have to worry about paying out of pocket for any food at all or wasting a TS credit because CRT takes two. You would have three meals a day and can easily get by on two meals the day you do CRT. Appetizers for each person are included in the deluxe plus two snacks a day not just one. Also you all get resort refillable mugs so it is a nice souvenir for the kids even if you do not use it a lot.
I would say also if you do the deluxe meal you can do more character breakfasts with the kids like Crystal Palace in MK with Pooh and friends or Tusker House in AK with Donald and maybe even be able to get in those parks early.

I do agree that if you do decide to pay for the DXL you need to make a few more ADR's because you will not be getting you $ worth. Also as a side note, we did enjoy the CRT but it really is not worth the 2TS and not worth it for B-fast!

I would read some reviews on The Akersuas Princess B-fast @ Epcot, itis only 1TS and the food and Characters are much better IMO.

Take her to the BBB early in the Castle and then go over to Epcot.

I suggest going to allears.net and looking at the prices of what you would probably order at the restaurants. Then compare it to the cost of the Deluxe DDP and also the Basic DDP + paying OOP for the additional meals.

If you did the Deluxe plan, you would have exactly the number of meals you would need. 4 nights x 3 = 12 meals. It sounds like you are arriving late in the day on Monday, so you would have a TS meal that night, then 3 meals the first full day, 3 meals the second full day, 3 meals the third full day, and 1 meal the last morning before you leave. That's 11 meals, but with one of those meals counting as 2 TS, that would be 12.

With the Basic DDP, you are going to have to pay for 3 TS meals OOP and possible one CS. I just can't imagine that would be in your best interest, but like I said, check out allears.net and do some figuring.
