Thanks for the huge amount of info you all have provided. I have been scouring these boards for info in planning our 1st family Disney trip in October '05. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). At this point we are planning on booking a room at POR and reserving a trundle for my youngest.

What is the best building location to request? We will probably spend a good amount of time at the pool. From what I have read, this is a large resort so I want to request the most convenient area.

Also, should I make my reservations now using AAA, and then hope for a discount code....or wait.

Thanks! :flower1:

I would book now. You can always cancel if you need to. Hopefully you will be getting a code. Building 14 and 18 look to be the buildings nearest the pool on my map. Don't know much about AB area. We stayed in the Mansion area. You will love POR.

Thanks for the info and pictures...Now to decide, use the AAA discount and book a package, or separately.

We used our AAA discount to book a room only. Now when the codes come out, and they will, our TA will adjust for our AP. We never do the packages, mostly because of the bigger up front expenses and cancellation policy is not as forgiving. DH and I are also going back in October. Maybe we will see you there? We will be the couple lounging at the pool most of the day.

Hey lady, I know you! :)

I believe when we stayed at "Dixie Landings" we were in building 18. Thought it was great!
Must get to bed now. Will see ya later! ;)
