We are planning a trip for October and was wondering if there will be visible signs of construction inside IOA (Cranes, etc.) I heard that it will connected somewhere in the Lost Continent area. I just didn't want to go during that time if the area is going to be a mess because it is my wife's favorite section of the park. TIA.

The whole LC section will get a make over...it will become Harry Potter......doubt it will be happening so soon though. My guess is early next year.

I thought the construction was going to begin this fall from something I read...even so, Im going to guess we won't be seeing a whole lot of stuff happening from inside the parks until next year. They'll probably spend the first few months clearing the employee/unused land areas.

From what I hear, behind the scenes stuff will happen this fall, with stuff like minor land clearing and small construction. We wont see anything major until sometime next year.

Are there any sketches available? I know they are planning to have a Hogwarts castle and the Hogsmeade village. What else has been announced?

What ideas do you have for this land? I hope they have HP characters walking around. It would be creepy to run into Snape!

I saw some sketches and models for the new Harry Potter addition and it looked great. It is going to have hogsmeade village and Hogwarts, but also the forbidden forest. The castle is going to have an interactive ride, with Hogsmeade having shops and resturants. The executive director for theme parks said that the forbidden forest is going to have some spooky suprises. The sketches looked really great the building designs are the same as the movies (they are even using some of the movie designers and JK Rowling) the streets were coblestone. I can't wait to see what they might do with this for Horror nights if they can since I know Suess land is always a problem.

I was wondering if I can buy the 7 days/2 parks ticket now for $86 and save it to use it until 2009-2010 when they open the new Harry Potter section at IOA. I am sure the ticket cost will go up by then... what do you think?

Does anyone know if the Forest will be in doors or outdoors? Kind of like the line entrance to ET, how there is a really cool forest in there, I love that.

I would say no.........just a thought..........
As for the forest, I'm going to say outdoors....they havent broken any visible ground on anything yet.....so no one knows anything.

Those tickets don't expire until after first use, so I don't see why they wouldn't still be valid.

The sketches that I saw last night the forest looks to be outside, but like the guy said who knows what spooky suprises will pop up? Since they are just sketches and models now there is no telling what might change.:confused3

Any word if there will be Harry Potter characters, I really hope they can pull that off, it would be so awesome.:)

If the reports are correct then the license agreement says Universal cannot have any face characters.

Since the area is not scheduled to open until late 2009 I do not expect that guests will have any construction problems for some time. Although it might be a good idea to visit this fall so you can experience the Lost Continent again before anything visible is changed.
