New haircut...she butchered it!!!

I just got back from getting my hair cut and it's horrible. I went to a new place today that was just a cheap-o cut. My brother's getting married in June, so I'm getting my hair cut and highlighted then so it looks good. So there was no use for me to go to the usual nice salon that I always go to. So I went to a place and it was having a sale ($6.99 for a cut, no shampoo or anything) which should have tipped me off in the first place that it wasn't going to be so good. So I go in and tell the lady that I wanted it just off my shoulders and with long layers. Is that what I got? Nooo!! The length is a tad too short (no biggie), but she gave me all these crazy layers so it looks more like a bob. It's horrible. I really hope my hair grows quickly!!!

I'm so mad. I'll never go back to that place and I'm sticking with the nice salon that I always go to. I'm never leaving that place!!

I went to another salon for the same thing. My friends get their haircuts there so I went to try it out for a quick trim and side bangs. The way she did my sidebangs made me so mad. She used these knife things and it was just..wow, not very good.
I hope your hair grows back

eeek yea thats not good...sorry. the whole 6.99 would of tipped me off too, but sometimes we can't help but to go with a good deal. Thats how I got my short hair cut in my siggy. I told the lady at fiesta I wanted it no shorter than my ears and it ended up way shorter I cried forever when I got home. I left it like that and actually started to like it, but last march I started to grow it out for my wedding (this july) and now its to my shoulders, but still now quite as long. Hair grows pretty quickly. Especially if you take good care of it. Good luck I don't go to fiesta anymore as a sidenote. I will never step foot in another one. They messed my hair up everytime i went there. I now go to a hair school. I've had highlights, whole head color, cuts, trims, pedicures and they've never messed up anything. They are supervised by their teachers. I'd stay with your fancy salon that way u know what your getting and you are happy

I definitely learned my lesson! I'll splurge and spend over $100 for a haircut & highlights so I get what I want.

Maybe once I get used to it, I'll learn to like it, like you did. I guess it's just the shock of new short hair on top of the fact that it turned out looking like a bob that made me so upset. I think it's getting close to that time of the month too. That doesn't help either..

Thankfully I've only had one bad experience. It was in 4th grade I think. I go to this hair place and this one woman owns it and her daughter works there. So the mother has been cutting my hair and then one day the daughter cut it. She cut my bangs so short. Thankfully it was only 4th grgade. I was so mad though.

I'm sorry! I decided one time, right before sleep away camp that I would put light brown highlights in and low and behold when it was done I looked like a spotted cow! Keep in mind I did this in the morning and we left in the afternoon. Yeah, it wasn't the smartest move, but I ended up using a brown sharpy in my hair to even it out. I got it done a cost-cutters. NEVER AGAIN!

Can you just put it up? Thats what I would do.

I would, but it doesn't really work because it's too short. But I am going to go to CVS or something and get some styling gels to make it look better. Maybe I'll look for a wig too..

My next door neighbour does my hair for 10$ and she always does it wonderful.
I had the bob layer too because I went to a place at the mall and the hairdresser sucked (it's weird, a layer like a bob over longer hair). What I recommend is to let it go curly, put mousse in it. You can't even tell I have layers when I have my hair curly. That's how I got through the growing out stage.

That's a good idea. My hair is almost pin straight, but I can try scrunching it.

Yeah, putting your hair up won't work like you said.
It actually kind of made it worse for me. The bob layers would come out so it would look like I actually had a bob.
It was awful.
I will never ever cut my hair that short again.. and if I do, I'm going with as few layers as possible.. or a better hairdresser.
