Just back from the Easter Cruise on the 4- day Wonder and had a great time.

They have added a new activity for the Day at Sea, a Galley Tour of Triton's and Parrot Cay. There is one catch, you must attend the Chef's Cooking Demo in the morning and a crew member will give you a time and location to meet later that day for the Galley Tour.

If you are interested in the behind the scenes of the ship, then this tour is worth it. Plus you get to visit the pastry chef and sample those wonderful Disney chocolate chip cookies.

Enjoy,

Shar3,

Thanks for the tip! Did you do the tour or can you tell us how long the tour lasts? Are children permitted on the tour? I usually love to see the cooking demonstrations so that's no problem. I am understanding that you do the demonstration in the a.m. and then the tour later in the day (probably so they can take smaller groups) correct? Thanks again for sharing!!

The cooking demo is in the am and my DD-10 and DS-12 both enjoyed it (I believe it was the food that made it enjoyable for them). The tour took place at 2:45 and lasted about 20 minutes and children were allowed back into the Galley. You were taken back by groups of 8-10 with a Wonder Chef. We just happened to get the Executive Chef for the ship and he was very interesting, also he had only been onboard for 10 days.

Apparently this tour is available on the Magic and this was the first time that it was available on the Wonder. There were probably 4 groups that took the tour.

Hope this helps.

I would love to take part in this tour too! We are sailing on the Wonder in July (only the 3nt -- BOO!) So I hope it is offered for us 3 nt folks too!:)

I'm new to all this stuff, but cruising in November 04... how do you find out about all this neat stuff?

Here on the boards? Or is there a page on the official Disney page that tells you this stuff... I cannot imagine people taking advantage of this stuff if they aren't in the know somehow!

We did the galley tour on the Magic last month.
The pastry chef was putting the finishing touches on a big wedding cake with Mickey and Minnie on top.
It was interesting to see how large, the galleys are plus how clean they are, plus large photos of the way the dishes must be presented when served.
On the Magic we just went for the galley tour. No prerequisite to go in the morning.

Cheers,
Grumbo
