Hi, I am new here and we are planning our first trip to WDW in Sept. I know they usually do free dining around this time so does anyone know if they will do it again this year? I was also wondering if anyone could give a 1st timer any advice, info or suggestions on what to do. I plan on making our reservations this coming week. Any help would be apprechiated! Also I know they have waterparks there are they still open in Sept? Probably a dumb question but we have never been to Florida. TIA!!

:wave2: Hi! I'm from Mississippi too! As far north in MS that you can go in fact!

I've been to WDW twice and absolutely can not wait to go again!!!

I'm not sure about free dining in Sept, but yes, water parks will still be open then.

Do you have children? What are their ages?

We always have a breakfast at the CP b/c we can NEVER get an ADR at CRT!:confused3

Happy Planning! BTW, I'm so jealous!!!

I'm from almost as far South Mississippi as you can get. About 50 yards from my front door and your in the Gulf.

You will have a great time on your 1st trip.

Will you be driving? For us it's around 9 hours, not so bad.

September will be a beautiful month to go. Waterparks will be open. They are open year round. We went in December and people were swimming in the hotel pool. Too cold for me, though.

There is so much information on these boards to help you plan your trip. A lot to go through, but great stuff.

Here's some of my family's favorites:

1. Stay on property. It sounds like you are doing that since you asked about the dining plan. The dining plan is GREAT! Not as good as it has been in the past, but still worth the money. Staying on property you can take advantage of extra magic hours and even have your souveniers delivered to your hotel so you're not lugging them around the park all day.

2. Fantasmic - a great show at Hollywood Studios. A not-to-miss for us.

3. Character Dining - Crystal Palace at MK, Akershus (princesses) at Epcot, Garden Grill at Epcot

4. Autographs - if you have children this is fun. Bring (or buy one at the parks) your own books and markers. I bring a small creative memories Disney scrapbook. I have the characters sign on one side of the page and the corresponding page I scrap my kid's pictures of meeting that character. I also bring the sharpies with the retractable points. They are thicker and easier for the "pawed" characters to hold, and you won't lose the caps.

5. Pin Trading - We started this when my daughter was 3 and she loved it even then. She still loves to look at her pins and talk about where she got them from.

Have fun and Good Luck with all of your planning! :goodvibes

Hi just want to tell you we have free dining for September because they have a bounce back program. so if you stayed there last year and you booked your trip for this year while you were there they gave you free dining. I think they would offer it again this year for august and September but I am not sure just keep checking on this board. If they offer it . it will be in sometime in April that's when it was the last 2 years. also check out dis unplugged which is a pod cast you can listen to it on your computer or download it to a mp3 player. if you have any questions just throw them out there someone will know the answer. oh one more thing :welcome: :disrocks: you came to the right place to find out about WDW. here is the link to the pod cast check it out lots of info

Thanks for all the info! I am in Florence, MS which is around Jackson. We will be driving down so we can sight see. I have 3 daughters ages 4, 7(will be 8 when we go), and 9. My girls are really loking forward to our trip. They got piggy banks(jugs) and decorated them and are saving their money for Disney Vacation. We are planning on staying on site and doing the dining plan and doing a few character dinings if possible. The girls and I are making their own autograph books so that it will have their own special little touch to them.

Hello,
I am from MS as well. We are planning to "do" disney during SPRING BREAK, of course!!!

Thanks, disneylvrnMS. We are actually leaving in 4 hours for the trip. We are making a pitstop in St Augustine to visit with family before we get to WDW. Hubby and I were "too excited to sleep" last night. Hee-hee! Have a great time on your trip in 2 weeks.

Hey Gulfport, enjoy your trip! Sending you good vibes from Ocean Springs as you pass on by!

WELCOME!!

I've visited Mississippi! :)

We've been 3x in September in the past 3 yrs during FD... and yes, it is being offered again. It's a nice time to go, but be forewarned, especially because of the thrust of the promo - (dining) - the restaurants are crowded. Most ADR's go quickly, so if you are going to go, get your ADR's now.

Have fun with the planning !!
