New free water policy in parks

The water thing always floors me. I see so many people stopping in asking for free water and then try and take up space at the restaurants to drink it. I wish they would terminate offering free water in the counter service restaurants.

Water is essential to human life, as is offering restrooms. Would you rather see someone on the concrete in a park suffering from dehydration? You really can't be that callous.

I'm not suggesting that Disney give away free meals, but it's water.

Then purchase a damn bottle of water. If your in a theme park you should be able to afford a bottle of water.

And this is how a perfectly innocent thread goes to the argumentative side.
Again, Disney wil not stop offering free water, end of discussion on that point, and if you must continue discussing, no name calling please

Or your could take advantage of something Disney offers, which my wife and I have often.

And now I'm out.

Are the carts that sold bottled water still plentiful in the parks? I read they are not. You can bring water but 1 bottle is not going to help you and you can’t use the soda machines for it like before. ...so even the free stuff is getting hard to come by.

It should only be available with the purchase of an item.

There's only one explanation here.... you are incognito Chapek.

And, here comes my second ban for calling names :).

I'll see you all in a month.

Just so you all know, I was in charge of saving lives for 10 years. I don't have a filter because a filter was not an option. I think I have to change that. Or, maybe I don't.

We really need a face palm emoji for posts. The current ones just aren't expressive enough some days. Sorry for being off-topic.

What about it exactly "floors" you? That people want water? That they'd rather not pay $3-4 or more for one bottle of it? That a place that encourages people to walk miles a day outside in the Florida heat would actually give water away for free? The fact that they do it inside restaurants where the ice and drinking water is? That other people's drinking of free water somehow seems to inconvenience you and ruins your trip?

I would not have expected this at all to be controversial. I never had trouble getting cups of water at the outdoor dining walk up counters, and it seems common sense to do so rather than going inside in the current environment.

I agree. I can't tell you how many times my wife and I have had dehydration sneak up on us... it doesn't seem to be gradual. Sometimes, she brings a water bottle in the park, but sometimes forgets. And with all the money we spend at Disney, the one thing I won't do is pay exorbitant fees for Dasani (Think thats what they sell), which, I don't know if people know this, is from Coca Cola and is the run off water from when they manufacture their main product.

And again, we are talking about WATER. There is no reason to get angry about this.

Dasani comes from a municipal water source ( city water ), purified by reverse osmosis and minerals added. It's not very good water and why we don't buy it. I have also seen Smart Water for sale at WDW. $3.50 is pretty pricey for any bottled water but if you need it to stay hydrated it's worth the price. I'd rather bring my own water and buy a beer.
