New free dining offer yeaaah

Does anyone know what happens with a reservation where the FD starts part way through their trip?

Friends have firm dates that they need to go due to flights already being booked.

The FD starts 2 days after they arrive.

I attempted to go online and get a price quote for their full trip of 7 days using the 'specials' link but was unable to get a quote as thefirst 2 days are not part of the special.

I then went online and priced the first 2 days at normal rates and then the final 5 with FD but it came out expensive because I had to book a 2 day park pass + a 3 day park pass so was paying premium price for both.

Does anyone have experience with getting quotes for trips that are partially in and partially out of a discount?

TIA!

You are welcome , see you at Disneyworld:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Danny, have any word on the Sept/October dates that turned out to be Canadian dates. Does your source know if they will be released soon? I have been on the phone and the chat several times today and it seems locked out for Americans. I got my hopes up last night about getting booked.

Couldn't they:
1. Cancel their existing reservation
2. Make a FD reservation for the dates that it applies, but buy a 7 day ticket instead of a 5 day.
3. Make a 2 night room only ressie (or stay offsite for the nights that aren't covered)
4. Pick up their tickets at Guest Services when they arrive for their first 2 nights.

Thank you! :goodvibes

I've been saving for this vacation for the past 2 years and I have the money saved to cover everything at rack rate... but haven't been able to amass much aside from a few GC's for souveniers. And tips... man, forgot about tips! FD would have meant a nice princess dress for my princess. ;)

The good news is that at 2 years old your DD will probably be content just to be at WDW and will most likely not ask for a lot of souvenirs, if any. My DS and DD have yet to ask for any souvenirs during their trips to WDW! I am expecting that to change this year as DS will be 4 y/o. Normally, we get them a pair of mouse ears for each visit and I get a t-shirt.

For her princess dress, you might consider pre-buying one of the Disney princess costumes at Wal-Mart or Target. They are less expensive at these places than in the parks. Leave it on the resort bed for your daughter and tell her that the Fairy Godmother left it for her.;) I am thinking of doing this so I can get my neighbor to take it in for DD.

Sending a little pixie dust your way...pixiedust:

It would be cheaper for them to book the first 2 nights room-only and the additional 5 days on a package; FD with up to 10 day tickets. Pick the tickets up early from any Guest Relations booth at DTD/Parks during the first 2 room-only days.

Thank you so much Danny for sharing this wonderful news with us a few days ago. I heard that in previous years this was the site where rumors (accurate info) came out about the FD and I thought this must be one of the people. Good things come to good people. You have certainly given people alot of good the last couple of days. We all love Disney.

Just wanted to send out a thanks to Danny from yet another grateful Free Diner! I soooo appreciate your thoughtful heads up :goodvibes

Thanks danny25! After a crazy morning with over 4 hours on hold I was able to book free dining for our grand gathering at POFQ Dec 3-13! :cool1: We're so excited for our first Christmas trip, the Candlelight Processional and Disapalooza at the WWOHP! We're still trying to decide about MVMCP. Can't wait!

Thanks Danny! I never doubted you and am glad you took some peoples negative comments with a spoon full of sugar. Have a Magical Day!!!

FREE DINING FACTS AND INFORMATION

If your vacation starts a couple of days before a FD promo, it's possible to do a Split Stay - meaning, you can do a room only reservation for 1 to 3 nights at the beginning of your vacation, pay for your food out-of-pocket for those days, and be allowed to pick up your PACKAGE TICKETS up to 3 days early at guest relations at any of the four parks or at Downtown Disney (For further info on picking up tickets early, please see Diser, CheshireFigment's, Ticket Sticky on the top the Themeparks Board.)

Princess Tiffany,

I posted my question above. Does what your wrote above mean that if my friend purchased a package that includes FD beginning Feb 12th that she could actually pick up her package and enter a park on Feb 11th?

She would book room only from Feb 10 - 12 and then a FD package from Feb 12 - 16th with a 5 day park ticket.

Please let me know if this is not clear.

Thanks to you or anyone else who might be able to answer my question!

I had the same problem. I just booked the days of the stay with the promo that coincided, added the total amount of park ticket days I need, and paid. I will worry about the 2 nights that aren't covered by FD with either a room-only discount, a stay at POP, or off site. If you need the park tickets before the package starts just go to any park ticket window or DTD, and pick up the tickets early. Then they can be put on your KTTW card when the new reservation(package) starts. Hope this helps!

I'm not Tiffany, but I answered your question a few posts above.

Well my planner emailed that she was trying at 11:30 and it is almost 4:30 now, makes me think I couldn't get the FD. :sad1: Oh well such is life.

Thanks for all the info Danny.

Thanks Lehuaann!!

Does this mean that if they purchase a FD plan starting Feb 12th that they could use their park tickets on Feb 11th? If so, they would do as you recommend and purchase room only for the first 2 days and then FD for the last 5.

I got the FD!!! 4 nights at FW Cabins and 3 day myw tickts for $2786.46. Regular price with dining would have been $3212.69 so I saved $426.23. Thanks Merrie!

Yes. I did this last year and am doing it again. I have 2 nt room only at AKL Sep 27-29...then 7 nts FD at the cabins. I will pick up my FD park tickets early on the 27th (rule is up to 3 days) at any GR booth in DTD or front of parks to use immediately.

Even though I'm booked 7 nts FD, I can purchase up to 10 days worth of park tickets to compensate the extra days.

Sorry but why?:confused3, anybody can access to disneyworld.com and find this offer and in any place is specified that is only for non us residentes, only think that many hundreds of customers don't read these boards and enter today at the site and book without problems that offer, sorry again but that the CM who tell this to you coul be one the CM's that yesterday say no, no will be more FD offers this year:lmao:

Maybe. I I honestly, truly do hope this works out for everyone involved. Really :grouphug: I would just hate for a bunch of people to upset because Disney cancelled the reservations (It does have CA in the http address for Canada)

Has anyone called to confirm that their reservations held? Please let us know. :goodvibes

And good job to all of you that trudged through that mire and much of phone hell this morning. LOL
