New free dining offer yeaaah

So am I understanding that the FD promo CANNOT be added to an existing reservation online? I already have a package booked including the DP (I've only paid a deposit though), and you are saying that I can only add the promo by calling in at 7:00 am? I wonder if I could add it to my package online if I didn't already have the DP on there? Anyone know?

That's correct - you have to call to make changes to your reservation. No you could not add FD if you didn't have the DP on your package -only new reservations/packages can be made on-line.:goodvibes

You could always check-out of POP in the morning - have bell services send your bags over to WL and check-in later in the day - maybe even in the evening. I don't think the late afternoon should be that busy - it's usually from 7am - 3pm that's really insane.:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 thanks

I have never seen anywhere, ever while in my reservation online to add a code. I think you will have to call and ask them to please apply code ??? (get this here or mousesavers if it's out ahead of time) to your current reservation, which is #??????. This will save you some time. I was appalled once to have someone insist that I give them the code I was talking about on the "morning of". I think Danny mentioned that happening sometimes in one of his posts. Normally you could just say "free dining" but wow, that early in the morning, if you're in a hurry you don't want them to ask you that question and not have an answer. Imagine the hold after you look it up and ring back!

Only 3 days my friends :cool1: i'm very happy for all the families, Thank you for your confidence in my words.:thumbsup2

HA! I hope you're right... To make a long story short, I've changed my days around to make this happen, Only by two days. Luckily we all have flexibility in vacation/work schedule. With that said even if FD somehow doesn't happen I actually like our new plans better anyways lol. We were suppose to arrive 10/21 but because of the "FD dates" we moved it to the 23rd with a one night stay on the 22nd which will allow us to fly in the afternoon and chilax by the pool or head to downtown Disney for that extra night. We'll then Hit the bed and rise early already in Disney! No hassle of traveling at 4:00am haha.

Still crossing my fingers and hoping Danny that you know what you're talking about lol!

too many pages to read all of them, so if this has been asked, i apologize. if this rumor is true, is this a good sign that there will be 2012 free dining also, or are the two unrelated? thanks!

Well then I am wondering if I should just go ahead and book a new ressie with the promo code as soon as it shows up online and then go back and cancel my old one. I don't know if it's worth the trouble though? Do you think the hour difference between online booking and the phone lines opening is worth the trouble? I also have all my ADRs already made and linked to my ressie as well as several room requests. I suppose that a deposit would also have to be paid again and the old one refunded. We are staying at CBR.

Not worth it to me. Adr's are set. Requests made, etc. Taking the free dining instead of room discount and paid dining would only save me $9 by my calculations. I may call just to check but unless it's a lot more savings than I think, I'm not going to change anything.

I am under the impression that adding FD doesn't effect dining reservations (unless you mean you would have to change your actual vacation dates). :confused3

Has anyone ever had experience booking the free dining discount during pop warner week? I was thinking of taking advantage of the free QSDP offer and booking it at POP century. Only problem is the week I am going is Nov. 30 - Dec. 7. which from my understanding the Pop warner people will be arriving on Dec. 3. Will this limit the amount of free dining rooms available at POP?

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. If a room discount comes out, it could save us more than free dining. That being said, could I purchase a dining plan with the room discount? Or can the discount only work if it's a room only reservation.

too many pages to read all of them,

At the top of the first post on each page there is an option that reads "search this thread". You can use this to find out anything you need in a particular thread. :) :thumbsup2

That's exactly right. You can make dining reservation and not even be staying on property so the discount does not effect your ADR's.:goodvibes

Yes, it is possible that POP Warner will take up space and limit the number of rooms available at the value level, I believe that the All-Star resorts will be more effected by PW week than POP.:goodvibes

Yes, you can purchase a dining plan and park tickets with a room discount. In the past you would need to buy a minimum of a 1-day park ticket for each member of your group to get the dining plan on a room discount - you would have to wait until the promo comes out to see if this stipulation has changed (they may request more park tickets, not less) :goodvibes

Well, I was going to check on an answer to a question but the reservation system is down....sign of things to come?;)

Brandi, someone mentioned (not sure if on this thread) that TA access too was down. Maybe updating for Visa members for tomorrow? I'm not a Visa member but will be reading along to see who gets what and what is blocked out already. OOOOO THE ANTICIPATION:banana:

That is what I have been wondering as well, and I've followed the entire thread and not seen that answered yet.

We are booked at Poly 11/27-12/4. We have never traveled to Disney when there was a discount available, so this part of the planning is new to me. Assuming the op is on target about the fd, I don't know whether to think there will be plenty of availability at Poly if I call first thing Wednesday morning (or whenever it becomes available). Or is it likely that enough people will jump on the discount with new web reservations before the phone lines are open and I'll be blocked out when I call at 7:00? :confused3 Anyone with any insight on this? I'd hate to have to change resorts but I might hate to miss out on a discount even more. I am perfectly willing to make two reservations and cancel one though.

Crossing my fingers that Disney Visa holders will get first dibs so I don't have to worry about it.

We are getting an 8-day park hopper so that would work! Thanks!

The system is still down! Here's hoping - I'm not DV card holder either but I will be watching and wishing for everyone that is tomorrow!!!:goodvibes:cool1:

It's hard for anyone to give you a straight answer on this because we have no idea how many rooms will be available and/or how many people know about this offer and will be lining up to reserve their spot on Wednesday morning. Is it worth the hour? I've seen people call weeks after the offer comes out and still get the discount applied, I have also seen people call and get through within the first 20 minutes to be told their resort is sold out of FD rooms. Your guess is as good as ours:confused3
