New free dining offer yeaaah

I was so excited to see this that I read every single post!!! :surfweb: lol!

I too have to reserve two seperate ressies to be able to take advantage of offer. I know that you are able to pick up tickets earlier...my question is do you have to actually leave the room you are in and move to the second room or will they be able to make it work that you could remain in same room???

They will try very hard to keep you in the same room, but can't tell you until check-in if it is possible.

Thank you!

edited to add: just checked disney's website. Rack rate for our 4 nights at FW cabins is $1395 from 10/28-11/1. Its $315/night for fri/sat and $305 for Sun/mon.

And if we stayed with the AAA, it'd be $1185.76, so a difference of $209.24. So, the way I'm understanding this, we pay an add'l $209.24 for the room, and then get our meal $ of $585.12 that we've already paid back. Instant savings right there! Woohoo!
Even at $315.00 per night, a 15% off AAA room discount is only going to save you about $47.00 of rack rate, whereas the FD discount is still going to save you $208.00 per night off rack rate prices. So, that's still about a $161.00 saving more per night by using the free dining promo.

We are first time AP holders (just purchased in june) and we are booked to return 11/25-12/2 at POFQ (room only ressie, 3A includes a 11 yo and then 1 C) ...is there any way FD could benefit us (ie buying a 2 day pass or something) or is there hope for an AP discount at that time also? OR do AP holders get any discount by adding the dining?

Hoping someone can help me. :)
Thx,
Paula

My Frain is Bried! :confused3...shouldn't have even mention US/IOA to them.

I think I'll just quit telling the family any "details" about this year's trip....until it's time to pack-n-go.

Sounds great! I did get an email from my DU agent, and she seemed to think park passes are required as part of the package? Is that right? I haven't bought my park passes yet, but thought about getting them through undercover tourist cheaper. Well, I did buy my MNSSHP tix, but that is it.

She also seems to think it might cause disney to mess up or lose my dining reservations I have and to wait til closer in time to switch that. Seems odd to me...same name, same time, same # of seats...just different payment method.

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

You can not purchase the dining plan, let alone get a free dining discount unless you are booked with a Magic Your Way Package that includes room, tickets and dining. There is a 2 day base ticket minimum requirement to get the free dining plan discount.

Your TA doesn't seem to know anything about Dining Reservations at WDW. You do not have to switch your reservations and it will not mess up your dining reservations to apply a free dining discount to your reservation. You don't even have to have a WDW reservation to make dining reservations. You wouldn't do anything to your dining reservations if you happen to get a free dining discount. You can ask that the reservations CM link your ADRs to your reservation number, but that isn't required either.

If you are booked under a room only reservation right now, that room will have to be cancelled and you will have to rebook under a package reservation.

This is hilarious. Those codes are for a passholder room discount and a room discount for residents of The Villages from 2007.

Even if they are re-using a code from 2007 - as long as it goes into effect on August 3rd, 2011, who cares when it was used before?:confused3

Great....free dining...now instead of a nice relaxing vacation..the restaurants will be packed and I'll have to wait for every ADR like last year (55 minutes at Le Celliar).

Argh....I hate free dining.

Sorry!!!

You and me both...I'm looking at being there the only FD week in Dec! UGH!!!!!

danny25 thanks again for posting. Quick ??? Do you know if Disney Visa cardholders will be able to book fd early? TIA

I was wondering if you already had your package booked before the prices went up and the free dining came out. When we call would we still receive the same price for our tickets or would we have to pay the new higher price to change the reservations??? Thanks

Codes aren't reused. After several calls about this. I looked it up. The mods need to close this thread.
The Dis has this "rumor" now listed on their Homepage and their Facebook page. Are the Mods going to close those down too?
