New free dining offer yeaaah

Me and DH are really hoping something comes up for our dates cause this actually has me very bothered right now. I would have been happy to check in a few days earlier since this would save us about $700....We have our flights booked already. If we can get the same price it would only cost us $150 to change them which I would do but right now the flights are a lot more so I don't know..

what about 2012?? :confused3 Is it unlikely there won't be free dining in Feb?
Who knows? Last year was the first time Disney ever released free dining dates a year in advance . . .

I'm sure there will be free dining dates for next year, but it's really too soon to guess at exact dates. FD is generally offered during low crowd seasons, that's about as specific as anyone can get at this point.

Great....free dining...now instead of a nice relaxing vacation..the restaurants will be packed and I'll have to wait for every ADR like last year (55 minutes at Le Celliar).

Argh....I hate free dining.

Sorry!!!

i like saving $$ just like everybody but i do like not having to wait forever for our ADR's

Hoping the rumors are true! The kids and I will be down Dec 10th-18th and we were hoping for this deal :goodvibes Of course the 10th is blacked out, but that's ok! I can just do room only that night ;)

We booked for Oct 1-8th. I read in an early post that I would not be able to take the offer since we are coming in on the 1st instead of the 2nd. Is this true? Also, would I be able to book for the 1st and then book the rest of the trip from Oct 2-8th to get the offer?

I hope this makes sense. :confused3

We booked with a 40% off room pin for Dec. 1st-15th. Now I have to figure out if we will get more of a discount with free dining or with keeping the room discount.

For those who have seen this info posted in other places, is there any mention if this is a public offer or through the Disney Visa? I'm wondering if it will be available earlier for cardholders as in the past. The OP says it will be open to "all" on Aug. 3rd, so I am assuming that is a public offer. Disney Visa offers usually come out a few days to a week before that.... which is right now? :confused3

Hi! I am scheduled to arrive at WDW on December 3rd and leave December 10th. I saw someone else say it the free dining will apply because I am arriving on a day included in the free dining plan. Is this really true? Else, does Disney make it hard to change dates once you've booked and paid? We're already paid in full, but don't have a problem switching the dates to the following week. HELP!

In past offers, no, unfortunately you cannot. For some reason it doesn't allow you to go to Quick Service when staying at a mod or deluxe. Which is unfortunate for some guests.

Disney usually updates their system closer to when the phone lines open...my guess to keep it fair for everyone...so it usually causes a bogdown online with everyone refreshing!! LOL

What time do the phone lines open?

No you will NOT be able to bool the package for the 1st. You would need a room only reservation for the 1st and then book the FD package for the rest of your stay. We are booked 10/1-10/12. I have a room only for 10/1 and a package for 10/2.

last year when we stayed at the Poly.. for a family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 kids, it was WAY cheaper with the 40% pin.. but do the math and see if it works for you guys. :thumbsup2

I am glad I made my ADR's the day after i booked my trip that way i wouldn't have to worry bout them. but now i worry the parks will be crowded more because of Free Dining the week prior to Thanksgiving. But my mom says it's probably not because people take off the week of thanksgiving. what do you think? :scared1:

What I think is most likely is that Disney will start releasing offers closer to the date of travel. Last year's announcement in August for most of 2011 was pretty unprecedented. I think they want to keep all options open for the ulikely event of an economic improvement and their ability to charge more!

FWIW.......... I did call to move a BBB appt this morning and it took FOREVER. The CM said they were doing some system updates.............
