We just got back from a glorious four nights at POR, and I've decided to try my hand at this food report thing
So here goes...

Cast includes...

DS (age 4) and Myself
Picture013.jpg

and DH.

The first night we headed to over to T-Rex.. I wasn't expecting great food, we went for the atmosphere, being with a four year old boy and all.... DS ordered the kid's cheese pizza which I didn't get a picture of, but it was your basic pizza, and it was pretty good! I ordered Paleo Shrimp..
Picture057.jpg

and hubby got the Mammoth Mushroom Ravioli
Picture058.jpg

Both were VERY good... we were surprised.. we both cleaned our plates and weren't even able to consider dessert :thumbsup2

The next morning we headed over to Ohana for our character breakfast... I did have high expectation of this place and it didn't let me down!!

Yeah.. the little one doesn't like his picture being taken.. so most of the time if I want a decent one I have to surprise him :lmao:

After Ohana we really didn't want lunch... we got DS a snack, but we wanted to save our appetites for Tutto Italia that night!!

Tutto Italia was really nice, DS got the Mozzarella Sticks
Picture133.jpg

Picture132.jpg

I opted for the Tagliatelle alla Primavera
Picture130.jpg

Hubby got Farfalle (sp?)
Picture131.jpg

Both were amazing, mine was so good I almost couldn't stand it... literally.. I feel like having some shipped up to NY right now...
We were stuffed after dinner but, decided we had to try some dessert!
He had the cannoli and mine I can't remember what it's called, but it's expensive and delicious!!
Picture135.jpg

Picture134.jpg

He said the cannoli was the best he's ever had (and he's italian lol!)

The next day we all got the basic french toast with fixings at POR for breakfast.. it was OK but I wasn't too impressed with the french toast.
Picture147.jpg

After doing AK that morning, we decided to buzz into Rainforest Cafe for a quick bite... DS got the Mini Hotdogs
Picture189.jpg

Hubby and I decided that we'd split the Spinach Artichoke Dip, and then get a Volcano.. hehe...
Picture192.jpg

Picture193.jpg

everything was very good... probably the best food I've had at RFC

That night it was Planet Hollywood for dinner... nothing fancy... we were still kinda full from that Volcano!
DS got chicken fingers, fries, and a chocolate milk.. I don't know what it was about the chocolate milk there, but he and hubby both said it was kinda gross.
Hubby and I got burgers, for me the classic cheeseburger, and for him the Mushroom Onion Swiss Burger... they were good but my burger did not sit well with me... I went to bed early with a bellyache :confused3

I almost cancelled a Kona Cafe reservation for the next morning because that burger made me so sick, but BOY am I glad I didn't! By morning I was ready to have me some Tonga Toast!!
Hubby and I decided to get the Tonga Toast and a Big Kahuna and split them.
DS got Mickey Pancakes, and I was expecting a little mickey shaped pancake, oh no... they create a huge mickey head out of three pancakes, needless to say even though they were delicious, he couldn't put a dent in them! :lmao:
Our breakfast was SO good.. that Tonga Toast was everything I imagined it to be, and the big Kahuna was delicious as well... this would be another day we'd skip out on lunch!

We decided some time at Ol' Man Island was the perfect way to unwind and digest some of that huge breakfast... so we swam and had some drinks. These are the Long Island Iced Tea and the Mai Tai (sp?) Both were good but strong.. I only needed one that's for sure!
Picture229.jpg

That night would be our last at Disney... so we went all out and headed over to Shula's Steakhouse at the Dolphin Resort.. we decided to hold nothing back... as we ordered the 32 oz. prime rib.. equipped with baked potato, a Beefsteak Tomato Salad to start.. and of course, Creme Brulee dessert. DS got a hot dog and fries (surprise!!) The salad, prime rib and potato was to die for. I had nothing but fat and bone left by the time I was finished... I would highly recommend this place for a great steak, but you'll pay for it. I've never had Creme Brulee but I wasn't crazy about it. The first picture is my blueberry martini, and it was delicious! Very refreshing.

The next morning, we had fruit cups from POR, we had overdone it times ten at Shula's and needed something light. Before we left the resort, we hopped on the boat to DTD for lunch at Earl of Sandwich. DS got a pizza sandwich which was quite good, hubby and I both for the Earl's Club Sandwich, and it was sooooo good! That bread is to die for!

Well there you have it.. my first but definitely not last food report! Hope you enjoy it :-)

Thanks for the reviews and the photos! You did a great job, especially because we plan to eat at ALL those places (except possibly POR food court). So, did your son like T-rex or Rainforest Cafe better?

Wonderful!!! Great job and great pics....now I am really hungry!!!

Thanks! My son LOVED T-Rex, but he's a four year old boy lol.. with a serious love for dinosaurs... it was very crowded and loud, the meteor shower was something else! I felt terrible because there is a triceratops dinosaur over by some of the tables and this one family came in.. the little boy was terrified of it and his mother dragged himover there kicking and screaming and made him sit next to it, and you could tell he was really scared.. I think they should have offered them a different table but.. he didn't cry for long, I think he realized after a few minutes it wasn't real. I would say my husband and I really love the looks of rainforest cafe but the food at T-Rex was surprisingly good. The dip, tortilla chips, and volcano was probably the only thing I've had at rainforest that I really enjoyed, I go back for the atmosphere but this time I was pleasantly surprised. We got very lucky, I can't say we had a bad meal this entire trip.

Thanks for the reviews-the pictures of your little boy and the characters are priceless! He's adorable! Glad you had such a great trip!

My dh got sick after Planet Hollywood too last year. We won't be heading back there anytime soon!

Your son is a cutie-pie!! I loved the picture where you were holding him in your lap and he looked very unhappy. It made me laugh.
