I personally think people have started opting out of park hopping because of the ticket price increases, the new FP system, and also because it eats up 2 hours of actual park time. Leaving one park to walk to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, walking to front entrance, going thru security, more walking to the first ride of the new park. It takes longer than most people initially think. Right now in the winter, the parks aren't open as long. Hoppers cost, take away precious time, and are a PIA based on "who knows when the bus will actually come."
I think this test is more on the thought of "will people not only buy it but will change to hoppers to buy it." If it is, I think they will keep the price the same thru the beginning of the summer and re-evaluate then. Remember the first few years of the
Disney Dining plan? They hooked plenty of people over a long period of time before increasing prices and taking things away. Now it isn't even cost effective for 80% of the people but yet people still purchase it. So I don't see them drastically increasing prices anytime soon. All in good time, lol.
