I believe the Sico beds are the ones that fold up into the wall. Our experience with one was in 2004 so it may be different now. Ours didn't have the huge mattresses as the actual beds did but it did have all of the lovely bedding and pillows and it was very comfortable.

Thanks, Gail!

I think I can deal with very comfortable! :goodvibes

We slept in the sico bed during our Nov./Dec. trip and slept just as good as in a regular "heavenly" bed. I don't know if the mattress is actually a heavenly mattress, but it was every bit as comfortable. They sit a little lower to the ground than the beds do, but other than that, still a heavenly sleep! Here's what they look like:

Sorry Dislifer, I didn't mean to dis you....:lmao:

The sico beds do fold up into the wall. I always called them Murphy beds but the S/D refers to them as sico.

We are staying at the Dolphin beginning 8/10 but haven't been able to secure a ressie for the night of the 17th. I'll keep trying. Hate to have to pack up in the middle of our stay. :upsidedow

If we aren't able to fill in that night, we'll have to spend that week-end suffering at Vero Beach. I hope we can tolerate a few days of relaxing in lounge chairs, reading, just staring at the ocean. :beach:

Thanks for the pic and info, Blondie!

Is that a king room?

We always need as many beds as possible so we never stay in a king!:grouphug:
Usually two queens and a rollaway... :crowded:

WOW!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

It must have been tough to return to the real world after staying there!!!

Maybe someday.....:cloud9:

I always stay in the west wing to be close to the pool and Tubbi's, ;) (I mean Picabu's)

When staying in the FAR EAST  is there a way to exit closer to the Yacht Club or do you have to walk back to the lobby. :scared1:

When we stayed there in Dec 06 there was no charge. It did take a while for them to find the package, tho! And we tipped the guy who brought it up.

we seem to have the same problem, with the locating of the packages we send, LOL... good to hear there's still no charge :)

If there is, I'd like to know about it!

In Nov/Dec '06 we were right off the elevator, it was great! We could see the entrance to the Boardwalk, but we were down in the corner. Those photos are here:

I'm trying to remember... we had a room on that side of the Dolphin once, and I remember thinking that we should be able to pop downstairs (even if it meant taking the steps) and get outside. I don't think we could, though? We were going to eat at Beaches & Cream and wanted to get there quicker - I do remember that, LOL! :rotfl:

Packages do seem to have a way of their own there at S/D, LOL. I have always gotten mine, but usually with a half day delay or so. Not a biggie, at least it is consistent, LOL.

I just want to say a big thank you to all the Swolphin experts on here - Blondie, Dan Murphy, Singingmom & all the others....I read this entire thread today (yes I neglected my family!) after booking Dolphhin this morning for 4 nights later this year. We stayed at the Swan in 2000 & couldn't wait to get back to the Epcot Resort area. We've done a few traditional Disney resorts since then, but I've been secretly longing for Swan or Dolphin! We finally had enough Starwood points to get 3 nights for free (added 1 extra night with AAA discount). Both hotels were available, but I chose Dolphin since we had already been at the Swan. I had a bunch of questions, all of which were answered at some point on this thread. I'm VERY excited for our trip (this trip is just myself & DS age 7 - DH is taking older DS to an NFL football game that weekend - that DS already had a mommy & me trip alone in 2002) ) and look forward to checking this thread daily for new info & tips from everyone! I'll be sure to post my questions as I think of them. It's nice to see so many people so passionate about something they love.

There is an exit but it's kind of hard to describe. If you take the east elevator to the bottom floor you can find your way to a door leading outside. You still have to walk around the far east "finger" but once around you're right at the path that leads to the front of the YC.

Can someone tell me more about the patio rooms I've heard mentioned....sounds like you can go out a back door and right outside....is this true

Gail - I think that sounds vaguely familiar to what we did, LOL... and the more I think about it? we got lost coming back from Beaches & Cream :rotfl: :lmao:

In this photo below, last room on the end ground floor, you can see someone sitting on a chair on their patio. If you used the patio doors to leave your room, your sliders would be left unlocked unless someone was on the inside locking them for you. I wouldn't leave my sliders unlocked under any circumstances, at any resort. There are no other exit doors that I'm aware of on the wings. Maybe someone here can verify that for us. :)

how did you get125 a night and what view thanks
maria

I believe it was back in February when they ran a special for Aug and part of Sept (I think). It is just a standard view, not a balony or anything special. I'm hoping for an upgrade but if not, I'll be happy just to be there.
