We always use a taxi to DTD whether staying at POFQ or the Dolphin (our two faves!) as the buses do take forever! :confused3

We have never had to wait for a taxi at DTD, there have always been plenty waiting there in the taxi line. :thumbsup2

Where IS the taxi line at DTD located? Thanks!:goodvibes

Hey, thanks Dan - for all the times we have stayed at the Dolphin, I never knew some of the restaurants you mentioned give the AAA discount. So,now that I know, I will make sure to try them out in just a few more weeks. Caroline:thumbsup2

I ate breakfast at Fresh on April 23rd (GREAT food), and my AAA discount was 10%. I assumed it would be 20%, but decided not to question it. The discount at Picabu was 20%, but that place is overpriced, and the food is none too appealing. The scrambled eggs were awful.

Nancy, we love Fresh too. We have that great breakfast buffet and often don't need to stop til the middle of the afternoon. Have you ever tried their omelets? Incredbily wonderful! Really counting the days now! Caroline

Yes - I had an omelet and some of their yummy french toast. The breakfast was excellent, and I liked having the money spent for breakfast charged to my room, which earned 6 Starpoints per dollar! (2 points per dollar charged to the room, + double points offer, + 1 point per dollar charged to my Starwood Amex, + 1 bonus point for Starwood charges on my Starwood Amex!)

Dislifer - I can't remember exactly, but with tip it was no more than $20 to DTD. We always use the disney buses for getting to MK and the other parks.

SingingMom - the one we use is where the shops are, if you walk to the car parking area, behind the World of Disney store you will see the taxi rank sign. :D

Got back lastnight from another excellent stay at the Swan!

I'll post a review w/photos in a few hours, getting ready to head out here in a minute!

It was hot, hot, hot the last two days! Temps were in the 90's with lots of humidity and the parks were extremely crowded! We're convinced that there is no quiet time to go to WDW anymore! On the plus side, there was no rain at all!

Can't wait to see pics and hear more. . .

I want to hear more, too. I'm going back again in August.

I have to say, I don't know if I mentioned it here before, but the Swan has the best customer service I've experienced at WDW - and I am a Poly and Magic Kingdom addict.

During my last stay they were phenomenal - front desk, stores, restaurants, everyone was just *on*. What really sealed it for me was when we were doing a Disney cruise and we had to get picked up at the Swan.

The porters came out, unloaded our taxi, stored our bags, gave us all our info, in a perfectly organized way and we weren't even paying guests that time - just waiting for a bus that happened to be coming there. (You have to know that when we got picked up for a Cruise at the Poly, the ancient Cruise desk woman gave us copious incorrect info, almost causing us to be left behind!)

I turned and said to my BF, "We are *definitely* coming back here - look at how well they treat us, even when we're not paying guests!" And, coming back we are! August can't get here fast enough!:cloud9:

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the zillion + 1 pages so...

When can I make my dining reservations if I am staying at the Dolphin. Is it at 180 days or 180 + 10? We are moving to the GF 4 days after we get there, but i'm wondering if I will have to wait until the 180 days for THAT reservation to get the rest of my days, and call every day up until then. :confused3 Thanks!!

In past years, when we've stayed at the Swan or Dolphin that rule didn't apply for ADRs but this year it's been different for us. I was able to use the 180 + 10 plan and make all our ADRs in one call! :thumbsup2

Traditional vs deluxe room at the Dolphin? What are the differences? I can't seem to find anything discussing the different room options beyond the view.

I think half of the executive suite we had last year could be considered a deluxe room. It was larger than a regular room, here's what it looked like:

Here's a good one for you Swan Dolphin experts - any info on Swan/Dolphin Weddings or rehearsals? I really want to get married in the Wedding Pavilion, but I am in love with the Swan/Dolphin as well and would love to incorporate it. Has anyone ever seen where they hold a wedding or rehearsal?

I saw a VERY small wedding there last year, Swan. They held it in one of the courtyards off the lobby. I watched quite a bit of it, it was very nice.

Dan - when I saw the question about weddings the first thing I remembered was a picture you posted from (I think Discon) of a not very happy looking bride outside the Dolphin!!! I don't think she was unhappy about her wedding location though.

We watched a wedding from our balcony last week! It was held directly below our room. It's a nice shadey area with a small elevated area (a few steps up) where the bride and groom exchanged their vows. Tables were scattered about with white tablecloths. The "head table" was out of our sight due to the trees.
