New Englanders

I know this question should probably be in the restaurant section, but I'm trying to get strictly NewEnglanders' opinions. How would you rate Mama Melrose? I've tried Italian food in other parts of the country and as many of you know what I mean it doesn't even compare to Providence or Boston Italian. I've been to Palio and it was excellent - even by "our" standards, but I really have no idea about Mama Melrose. I was thinking about the Fantasmic package and cannot get HBD and am not sure about H&V.
Thanks, all!

I live in East Boston, so I'm used to very good Italian food. Mama Melrose, not so much. I would say it's a half step above the Olive Garden or chains like that. I think it's better than you would expect for a theme park, but I wouldn't go there expecting fine Italian dining.

We did the Fantasmic Package with H&V. It was a very Southern buffet, with johnny cake, sweet potatoes, okra, etc. We enjoyed it for a change of pace. It was better than theme park food, but not as good as my Grandmas! (I'm originally from Missouri).

Hey, there, new mom11!

We've eaten at Mama Melrose's, and it's pretty good, if a bit pricey. Definitely better than Tony's Town Square in the MK, but not as good as Alfredo's in Epcot. It isn't fine dining, but they do have fire grilled pizzas like here at home.

Where in RI are you from?

Hi guys, sorry I missed this till now. I haven't been on the plannng boards much yet, but am revving up now!

OK - two things I learned while reading all 13 pages:

#1 - We need to have a Western MA meet out at Tanglewood for the Jazz Fest or for Movie Night!!! Yes everyone, I am

born and raised in Pittsfield  Hi to nocnurse! and everyone else from Western MA, although I have to lead into #2 now

#2 - If you are NOT from somewhere delineated by the Berkshire mountains, you are NOT, and I repeat NOT from Western MA - us people right up on the NY boarder take this western mass thing seriously!!!!

OK - now to get serious:

I now live in Worcester, MA ( to rdsx28, 7Beasley, Jovidan, klwdisney, and last but certainly not least, my good friend goofy4tink!)

We are traveling in late April 2006 for a DCL cruise - 7 day Eastern
We just recently bookd one night into WDW prior to the cruise.

We will be flying down on SWA (most likely) out of PVD (TF Green)

TTFN all you New Englanders!!!

Hi from me!!!! Looks like we can't even put 'western' in when we say Ma...I guess west of Boston does it. BTW...all of you from my area that fly out of TFGreen....it is exactly one hour from our door to the terminal. It is only 40 minutes for us to get to Logan. Then new extension has made it very easy. And Terminal A (Delta/Song) is gorgeous!!!! Now, if they could just fix that parking rate!!!!!

HI KGKMom,
Looks like we're neighbors. I live in Smithfield - Greenville actually so we're right next door! Gee and I thought I was the only Disney "freak" around here! We have some friends that just moved to Scituate (or N Scituate) from Cranston. They love it. Thanks for the dining info. I think I'm going to try to get H & V for the package. Everything seems to be booking up. Nice "meeting" you :wave2: :wave2:

Ok change of plans for us... we were going out of Logan w/ Delta but I got a sweet deal at the end of Aug flying out of home so now we are traveling 9-29-05 Portland Me to Orlando with Independence Air with a later return on 10-02-05!

:wave2: Cape Cod, MA
Flying out of Logan on Sept. 24... Can't wait!
