Another Western Ma ( Amherst ) family . We always fly out of Bradley in Ct. usually the 7 a.m. Delta flight. Next trip won't be until 10/06 unfortunately

TF Greene has direct flights to Orlando-on SW. We got ours for $158 per person roundtrip, nonstop

Wow, that's a really great rate, jrjac! I don't believe I saw anything like that during the holidays, though, and I've read enough about SWA's seating issues to want to avoid that particular airline...please, no flames, I just like to feel comfortable knowing I can sit with my family, even if I'm not first in line. I really like TFGreen to fly out of, though. It's so much easier to get into and out of, and so much cheaper to park.

Besides, SWA didn't release their dates until months after AA and Delta, and I got pretty good deals with them, for flying on Christmas and all. $112 for Song one way, and $73 for AA one way.

What?! There may be a chance my family and I will not be seated together on SWA? So it is "first come, first serve?"

This is a fun thread!

We are from Leominster / Central MA and will fly Jet Blue out of Logan on 10/20. I am not in love with getting into Logan. T.F.Green is a nicer trip for us with inexpensive long term parking. BUT we usually choose Jet Blue for the non-stop flight, the cost and "seat assignments". My husband has sworn off SWA because of their seating policy.

Hi. We are from just outside of Bangor, Me.
Going Aug. 22 to 27
Flying SWA out of Manchester. Airfare is about half what it is out of Bangor and the time is not that much more when you add in the layover. I can't find a nonstop flight out of Bangor.
Going Oct 7 to 16 on Delta out of Portland. We got a good deal long before we discovered SWA.

I can't believe there are that many responses from New England in 24 hours!!

I'm from Malden, and being this close, I HAVE to fly out of Logan .. but I don't mind it! I actually enjoy it -- I know, call me insane!!!

We (Me , BF and DD ) fly out on American Airlines next Wednesday!!!

Special Trip!! First time for DD at WDW She can't wait!! I can't wait till she finds out about the reservation at CRT!!!

but the last time I flew out of Green (last month) the security line was snaked around the entire upper concourse, down the stairs to the baggage claim, and three times around baggage claim
We're leaving on a Thursday, so it shouldn't be too bad, but for those folks leaving on a Monday morning, get there early!!!

Thanks for the "heads up." We always fly SW from Green and have never had to wait long for security, but we've never left on a Monday. Schedulde to leave around 11 am (trying to plan around my 3 yo DS nap) but maybe I should change to the 7 am flight?? Not sure yet. I think it's still open.

SWA does not have traditional assigned seating. You get into groups...pre-board, A, B and C. Note, if you have a printer at home you can check in for your flight at 12:01am the day of your flight and then you are almost guaranteed seating in group A. You can print your boarding passes right then. Get to the airport early and get in line right away for group A. Some people consider this to be a hassle but frankly we're willing to deal with it for the ridiculously cheap flights we get on SW. We have never had trouble sitting with everyone in our party and I'm sure if you plan correctly, you will not either. Note that if you are traveling with young children you will be allowed to pre board and thus get first dibs on seating. If you are not traveling with small children, be sure to get there early to get in line for group A....hope this helps!!

Oh yeah, you'll be fine. We traveled with my sister and her fiance in June and we were all able to sit in the same row. We also like getting to the airport early We checked in for our flight in June a little after midnight and we were among the first to check in and were in group A...good luck!
