New DVC Resort booking?

I have not been around when a new resort opened.

Travel dates are October 21-26, 2017.

If new Copper Creek resort opens before this is booking available?

2 Bedroom is what we have booked.

Are all rooms that are available just opened up to be booked?

I assume sales will start before resort opens.

Anyone with experience with past new openings let me know.

I wouldn't count on being able to get Copper Creek. Couple reasons:

1. To start, a limited number of units will be declared and bookable on points. It won't be the whole resort. 75%+ of the resort will be cash booking.

2. It'll all be within 7 months and it will be first come, first served.

Not counting on it. Just have not seen the discussion on how it works and how they open up rooms?

I booked 2 connecting studios for the poly on the first day it was open for non-owner booking. With the poly bookings, dvc opened it up to poly owners first for a certain period of time. I can't remover how long their priority window was to start with. Dvc then opened up booking to non-poly owners. We booked that day with no problems.

And they will most likely give Copper Creek owners an exclusive booking period before opening reservations up to the rest of the membership.

Here are my notes for how DVC handled the booking window when PVB sales started in January 2015:

1/12/2015 - Sales begin for PVB to existing DVC Members. Sales to new members will not begin until 2/09/2015.

1/13/2015 - Polynesian owners can begin making reservations on February 11, 2015 subject to the 11-month priority window. New DVC PVB members can book starting 2/18/2015. Owners of other DVC properties can begin booking PVB on February 25, 2015 for dates 7 months prior to arrival.​

PVB opened on April 1, 2015, which was 80 days after sales began.

Disney is not tied to any schedule on the roll out of a new resort, so what it does for Copper Creek may or may not replicate what happened with PVB or other resorts.

No they haven't announced when sales will begin See the PP regarding Poly. Went on sale in Jan and opened April 1st (so less than 3 months later). If I recall correctly they didn't announce sales far in advance of the sales opening date. We were in the process of buying DVC in late 2014 and they were still pushing VGF. I think they waited until the very end of the year or the first week in Jan to announce Poly
