Time to go out on A limb.

We have all heard the rumors for the CRV and that rumor has been discussed in depth for a very long time. When considering the current renos at the CR, and that no plans have been announced for the North Wing, the CRV rumor gains some weight. I have also just found out today that DVC will be celebrating its 15th anniversary in Ocotber of this year.

So here it goes - If the CRV is going to happen, the announcement will occur in Oct 2006.

I will be the first to admit that guessing what and when Disney is going to do something is a bit of a fool's game. But the stars do appear to aligning on this one.

Personally, I think you'll see A DVC resort at Disneyland Resort next. The just celebrated one year selling at Disneyland. Kind of preping the "masses" for a new resort. Plus, why go through the expense and trouble of establishing a permanent sells force and DVC support facilities with no DVC resorts?

Because California is an enormous market? :confused3 I'm sure that, with their many years of market research on the subject, Disney knows exactly how many folks make the trek from CA to WDW every year despite the fact the DL is literally in their backyard (raising my own hand here. . .) and the numbers may, in fact, be huge. That would be reason enough if the numbers are right.

That aside, of course, I dream (LITERALLY!) on a regular basis about the Villas at Disney's Grand Californian! And do, in fact, believe that it will happen.

Although, frankly, during the 50th Celebration was the time to announce. So, given that they missed that window, maybe not for a while. Forcing many of us to continue to :moped: :moped: :moped: across the country . . .

Certainly a fair segment of their market (raising hand again) would be more inclined to add on if a west coast option was available. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Posting just to use the emoticons today :woohoo: :Pinkbounc  :lmao: :cool1: :surfweb: :rolleyes1 :bounce: , Happyrebster

Count me in for Disneyland DVC. I think they dropped the points to entice DVC members out to CA in hopes that when they announce DL DVC owners will jump at the chance for an add-on.

Hmmmm. And a DVC @ DLR might be less competition for SSR while it sells out....

I'm thinking the Oct - Nov. timeframe too. I think they want to put a DVC at CR and DL but I don't know which would happen first. Although the Airstrip area might be the dark horse.

CR - long time rumor with supporting details, no north wing renovation, the rest of the renovations should be done the end of summer so good timing.

DL - I think they really want to put a DVC here if they can, ...but can they?

Strong possibilities:
Airstrip area - new rumor but I could see it happening. It would either be CR or the airstrip area.

Hawaii - I just can't forget this rumor. It would be great to couple this with a DL DVC.

AKL - After CR (or airstrip)

Hello all,

Unfortunately, i'm not a DVC owner (not enough money + people from Belgium can't become a DVC owner, stupid Disney :( ), but I wanted to give my 2cts worth.

I am not so sure about DVC @ DL. While at WDW, almost everybody is coming from rather far away (and thus needing a place to sleep/ stay) + stays for a longer period (more to do at WDW than at DL, thus wanting a bigger place to sleep/ stay than an average hotel room, especially with kids), DVC is very "useful".

At DL, however, most people are "locals" and stay only for a "short" time, since there are only 2 parks, and a small DTD. Next to that, everything is so close to each other (onsite + cheap offsite) that many many people are staying offsite without too many complaints of "not feeling the magic". After all, no one needs Disney transportation etc at DL.

I don't think many of those "locals" will buy into DVC to go twice a year 3 days to DL...

Just my idea...

There is plenty to do in the Anaheim area as well, and it's the FIRST Disney park

I'd sure like "Disney transportation" next week when I'm at DL, but I wont get it because I couldn't stay "on-site".
I don't think many of those "locals" will buy into DVC to go twice a year 3 days to DL... They are already buying in, and if DVC does a Hawaii extention, I can see DLV being VERY popular as an addendum to that trip.
Just my idea...

Other than the comments I made in red, I also think DL will be the next announced DVC, but I also think there will be at least one more at WDW and I'm HOPING for one in Hawaii! That is about the only one that would get me to add on at this point.

I must say that the rumors of a DL DVC never appealed to me much. But as I think about it, I could definitely see us doing the very occasional (once in 10 years) trip to DL. There are a number of attractions in the S. California area and it sure would be nice to "base" ourselves out of a DVC accommodation. Without DVC, I can't see us ever going to DL unless we just happen to be in the neighborhood for something else.

As to the OP's prediction, it will be interesting to see if Disney announces any DVC resort before SSR is further along.

I don't think Disney wants SSR to become the VB/HH of the '00's. :)

:thumbsup2 I agree.

I think a DLR DVC will come before another WDW one.

I spoke with a guide about 2 weeks ago. I talked to him about 3 possibilities:
- Hawaii
- CR
- AKL

He said that he could not tell me specifics but he said that all of those are in DVC's 5 year plan and that there would be a snow resort as well (guessing Colorado, Utah something like that).

I think DVC will get take a pause from the massive resorts (BWV, OKW, SSR) and do small easier to sell resorts for variety like BVC, VWL, HH and Vero. So there could be a DVC DL but it will probably be real small. DL does not have the room or the visitors that WDW has.

That said AKL, CR and Hawaii are enough to get the blood pumping. I am guessing DVC will roll out 2 each of these small resorts every year starting this Fall. My prediction is CR and Hawaii first

True, but they may buy a DVC at DL to go there every other year and to Hawaii or WDW the other years. That is why I think Hawaii would be great to announce with DL. This gives the west coast people another reason to buy either DL or Hawaii.

On the home resort advantage... Just a pie in the sky idea.... I think it would be great to institute another tier of booking advantage with different zones. So at 11 months you have the home resort, then at 8 months you are able to book at your resort's zone resorts, and at 7 months any resort. So WDW could be a zone, and outside orlando could be another zone. Just a thought. This may give another reason for people to buy at "off site" DVC resorts.

I would love CR - but I am betting on Hawaii....

got too many hints to think BIG.

I don't see CR as being BIG - but Hawaii ....

of course that annoucement should have already been made.... so maybe DVC has changed it mind AGAIN.... :confused3

I do think CR will be next. Though if I had it my way, DL and AKL would happen first. Oh well, hopefully they will occur somewhere down the line or Disney will surprise us.

As far as DL, I just started a tread regarding a new timeshare development within about a block of the DLR. It will be about 400 units and be part of a new retail development. The development appears to be a positive, and will provide one more thing to do while staying at the DLR.

I can't remember where I heard this, either hear on another thread or directly from my salesrep, but I was told the salesreps were told to get their real estate licenses in CA and Hawaii.

That would indicate DL and a Hawaii resort. Again, though, I know I heard this, but can't recall if it was from here or my salesrep.

I am one though who would like to see a CRV. A monorail resort would be pretty cool.

Why can't both DL and CRV or another WDW DVC go up at the same time? I think DVC is getting popular enough to handle two resorts going up at the same time; especially in two different locations 3000 miles away.

I also think DL makes the most sense - get something going on the other coast :thumbsup2

I'd love a DVC AKL but having just stayed there I'm a little concerned hpw they would add that on - I'm guessing it would have to be a small 100 room or so.

I just hope the AKL Front desk personnel get their attitude adjusted before that happens :furious: Awful service from 4 people, average/expected service from 1, and above and beyond from 1 other. .... and as thats not DVC I'll stop my rant there......

I'd love to see Hawaii too!
