New DVC price?Effective when?

Hi everyone!

I just got back from the beach (non-DVC, Ocean City MD...we had a blast!) I was not on the boards (except a "boogie board" lol) all week. I've seen a few posts re:SSR opening at $89/pt in early August.

Is the price of all DVC resorts going up at that time as well? What is the deal with the new end date for SSR? If we "old" ("Phase 1"??) owners add on at SSR, what happens after 2042?

Sorry if this is old news...I'm just catching up.

PS: Made a OKW GV ressie for next June day-by-day last week. It's a tough life...wake up at the beach, take coffee and cell phone out to oceanfront balcony, call DVC to make next summer's family vacation

Sorry life's been so tough lately.

Lots of semi-confirmed rumors are flying about SSR. The rumor is it will start selling this weekend and will have 50 years. I think $89 is the price. Rumor is they will sell-out inventory at all the other resorts at the current price. The new DVC's and the current DVC's will have trading until 2042. After that, the new ones will continue to trade among themselves. Nothing is definite what will happen to the old DVC. One guide said they can't sell extensions....we'll see down the road.

My guess is that if you buy points at SSR, it will be like having different resorts or when folks had points "with passes" and "without passes". From 2042 on, you wll only be able to use the SSR points. The rest will expire.
