I'm constantly in awe of the duality of the
DVC hive mind.
The number of forum threads, Facebook and Instagram posts, and other social media comments lamenting the "squeeze every penny" nature of everything Disney does is legion. The broad consensus, if you are to believe social media, is that Disney is a money-grabbing beast hell-bent on separating every raw cent from their guests as possible, in any and every way possible.
However, the likelihood that Disney has tried to come up with any number of other ways to utilize that space other than as an obscure outpost for maybe selling a handful of DVC points on the odd chance some unsuspecting guest stumbles upon it after exiting
Canada Far and Wide seems never seems to cross anyone's mind. That space sat empty for years, and there's zero chance Disney didn't try to come up with who knows how many ways to put something in there to make some cash and bring more bodies into the Canada Pavilion in general. Something that would potentially entice any and all Epcot visitors to enter the pavilion, not just a small cadre of potential DVC owners. Yet, we still hear a chorus of "Why didn't they put an XXX there?' or "Couldn't they have used that for XXX?" If the answer to any those questions was even the tiniest and most remote "yes", then Disney would have done it.
The Parks division typically rents out otherwise unusable space to DVC for lounges, and other sales-related facilities as a last-resort use of otherwise unusable space that cannot be monetized.
