My new DVC planner arrived today, but there is no points chart anywhere in it. Is this a mistake or do they think everybody is going to go online or call member services to find out how many points per season it will take to make a reservation?

The points chart for 2011 and 2012 is in last years. This one appears that they are just giving information about the resorts. Seems like a waste of money doesn't it?

From the 2010 Condo Meeting Highlights posted in the 'News' section of the member website:
Question: When will the Members receive the Vacation Planner?

Response: We acknowledge that the vacation planner has been late in getting to you. We commit that going forward it will go out on time. The Vacation Planner is now divided into two books. The first is a vacation planning tools book containing points charts and information needed to plan and book your vacation. This book will arrive in Members' homes before the end of this year. The second book contains information about the resorts and other vacation options and will come out in the spring. After that, it will come out every other year while the vacation planning tools book will come out annually.

Why not go back to the one mailing with all of the DVC resort info and point charts, etc. combined and reduce the cost out of our maintenance fees.

I'll got a step further: Why not stop printing and mailing these things altogether?

FWIW, it wouldn't save much on our maintenance fees. These books almost certainly cost more to mail than to print.

But what a waste of paper/trees and whatever amount of money they cost just the same.

Ours arrived Tuesday. The pictures of the resorts are great, but most DVC members know what the resorts look like. We don't really need to receive the book of pictures every year.

I did get the Vacation Planner Reservation Tools some months ago, so I thought initially that this Vaction Planner Membership Portfolio was the same thing. Seems like a real waste of trees, ink and postage to mail out two separate things when all you have to do is inset the points charts. I can see why new members would want to see more of the resots, but those of us who have been members a while, not much has changed.

Who pays for all this wasted paper? We have been members for just a short while, and we keep getting more stuff in the mail. 2011 Vacation and Reservation Points Chart, 2011/2012 Vacation Planner, Membership Portfolio....and for some reason we recently got 2 copies of the 2010 Vacation Planner?

Is this from a separate marketing budget or does this come from MF's? These are not cheap. And isn't all this info available online?
