New DVC Perks... Your Opinions...

Wow, some of you folks sure have a sense of entitlement just because you have a time share. 50% discount, various free passes, fast passes. Get over yourselves. You're not that special and certainly not entitled to anything other than an occasional room, hot shower and a nice pool.

Really I think this is more of a wish list. If every one thought they were entitled but not receiving what was due them then they would just sell out and go some where else. These things would really be nice and if you are going to wish then why not wish for what you really want.

I will add Free Wireless Internet to the wish list.

I'd also like to see the discount on MYW tickets. I just can't talk DH into an AP. I would also like to see an unlimited fastpass for DVC members (that really wouldn't cost them anything - just show you DVC card.

I would also like to see the 10% dining discount extended to all restaurants at all meals. I would like to do breakfast at Olivia's but it's not included in the discount. I really don't want to go back to OKW to save 10% on lunch.

You may think this but maybe we consider ourselves customers who deserve and expect a little more simply because we have bought into the system, there isnt a month goes by without Disney sending me some offer, promotion or little gift, always keeping in contact and showing their apperciation, I spend a lot with them just like the majority of DVC owners do on average compared to general customers, a little like casino owners give bits and pieces to big spending customers because they are the most important customers to the casino simply because in the long run they are continual repeat visitors and they make more money out of them. If you dont like our expectations thats your problem, why not take it up with Disney and suggest that regardless of what they spend to traet them equally, i am pretty sure that this will fall on deaf ears and be totally ignored, if you too want the little extras, feel free and join DVC the "club" is open to anyone who wants to join. As for extra fastpasses I think the day will come, it already as at DLP, the more expensive the accomodation the better the special fast pass available, with a capitalist company like Disney if this works at DLP I am pretty sure it will happen elsewhere eventually, i.e lookafter those who spend more. Cannot wait for it to happen myself, already has happened at Universal and suits me just fine so bring it on. :goodvibes

This may be unpopular, but since we are dreaming...
Make the DVC resorts pet friendly, (or certain rooms pet friendly)
It is "family" vacation after all, and my furbabies ar ethe only babies i've got right now.

anyone else want to see a few pet friendly rooms?

NO would not want to see pets cooped up all day while people are at the parks. Also would not want to hear barking all night or poop all over the resorts. I love dogs and have always had at least one, but the truth is many many people do not have well trained dogs, nor do they care about annoying fellow guests. I'm sure I'll get flammed but it will be by the guilty people. The true dog lovers that know how to train and handle thier pets know I'm right. In a perfect world you could bring your pet, we can't even get people to smoke where they're supposed to.:confused3 Don't know if I'm off topic because I did not look back to OP to see haw this got started:laughing:

offer free internet? $10 a day is way too much for the service.
:cool1:

YES!

After all, it's not even the "best" timeshares that do this now. It is also many a lowly hotel chain that offers free internet access as well.

You would think that DVC would want to consider matching some of the high-end timeshare offerings. But you would also think that DVC would definitely want to do better than someplace like LaQuinta!:rolleyes1

anyone else want to see a few pet friendly rooms?

Personally? I would not want to see that.

Not that I am against pets.

Just that I am acutely allergic to the dander of many animals.

And, as we all know, DVC cannot even always honor our request for a non-smoking room. You can smell the room when you come into it if it was/is a smoking room and you are a non-smoker.

But you cannot smell the dander that is just waiting to trigger an allergic reaction.:sad1:

Don't know if this is so much a perk as the way they manage perks, however...

My "perk" would be a request for some continuity. There are many times where I take friends to eat at a restaurant on site and, at the time to pay the bill, show them my ID only to hear, "We're not doing that this year." Many sites get added and subtracted so often it is hard to remember where a discount, if any, will apply. It would behoove Disney and DVC to solicit some long-term commitment from the places they contract for discounts for members, in my humble opinion.

I don't mind not being able to book online. In fact if I don't hear Beauty and the Beast at least 15 times a month while I'm finalizing my plans, I get a little skittish.

Which brings me to my 'perk' wish list. It wouldn't really be that much money, and only one is DVC specific.

1) Get a big Ipod and put the whole library of Disney songs on it. Set it for shuffle songs. Hook that up to the phone lines for when people are on hold.

2) If we're not going to get real television in the rooms, which isn't that big of a deal for me, at least put more of the classic cartoons in that loop on channel 96 and change the loop a little more often. It's pretty sad when we'd rather watch the Appliance Direct commercials than the stuff Disney puts on their channels in the room.

3) (DVC specific) On the website where they list vacation details, they could include any waitlisted rooms and where you are on the waitlist. I understand that it's not an exact science because someone could be listed day to day vs. the whole week, but just a rough estimate. If you're waitlisted for one day, anyone who is before you who has that day as all or part of their waitlist is before you. If you have multi-days, anyone with all or part of and of your days is listed before you. Just to have a rough idea if there's any movement at all or if you should plan something else.
