Just purchased today. We have been "talking" since our July visit. Didn't want to miss the incentives ($8 a point, $500 Visa, developer points). I'll be waiting for the contract in the mail. Any idea how long until I can reserve? My guide told me I could reserve tomorrow. Is this correct? Before anything is signed?

Congrats! I just bought AKV recently too. Your guide can check to see if there's availability & put a room on hold for you right now - but they can only save it for, I believe it was, 48 hours. They can get a member ID for you as soon as they have the deposit.

If you don't sign, your reservation will be canceled so Disney isn't out anything.

Thanks to everyone for the information. We have put in our down-payment already. So, if I call today to reserve -- do I call my guide or member services? Thanks again.

When we joined last year we put down a deposit on a CC and were in the system within an hour or so and made reservations later that same day. Our paperwork didn't show up until almost a week later.

Congrats. We just purchased AKV last week. I was able to call this past sunday and make my first reservation.

OK - I just booked the "last part" of my vacation for July 2-7 @AKV. I booked a Studio - Safari View. Now, I just have to cross my fingers until after Thanksgiving to book my 1-Bedroom at SSR (to use my 160 Developer Points) for the "first part" of our vacation. Thanks to everyone. It has been pretty easy - so far.
