My DH and I finally decided to buy into DVC, just yesterday! You would think I would be more excited but I feel more like.

Can anyone tell me when we will be getting our point charts so we can start planning? All I have is the old 2009 point chart. I'm also wondering if there is a website that has the points available?

I'm so nervous about wasting points I can't even be excited about the purchase!

I felt the same way when my husband and I purchased a few weeks ago but now I am really excited. Don't forget any points you don't use to bank them into the next year. You can find a 2010 point chart on www.dvcnews.com

Welcome! You may have second thoughts now, but they will fade fast. We have been owners since 1997 and have never wasted 1 point!! We have had no regrets and have definately gotten our $$ worth! Even if it is just 2 of you visiting, you can enjoy a 1 bedroom instead of a studio if you have the points. Or go less often and invite others and enjoy a 2 bedroom. Our DD is now 21 and in college and we are still enjoying our points and vacations in Disney. No Regrets!

Besides 'Welcome Home', I feel like saying 'Welcome To The Club' cause this is exactly how I felt when we purchased. However, since we are planning our vaction now, it seems like fun, so I too am hoping we will enjoy it. I have lots of questions and will probably be posting here looking for help as well.

There's a points calculator that lets you calculate the points you need for your planned trip and 2010 points charts for all the resorts.

We felt the same way--It's a chunk of money, yearly fees--wondering if you should have taken the plunge??

As you become more familiar and comfortable with the "program" you will feel fine. We became DVC members in June and have already added more points.

I can only suggest that you mark your yearly calendar with the date you must bank current unused points, you don't want to miss that date.

Right now, I am in the obsessed stage thinking about our next trip even though we just got back from WDW two days ago! Will the obsessive behavior ever go away? I don't really know.

I look forward to many wonderful D. vacations, enjoying my children there and anticipating my grandchildren visiting with us in a decade or two.

You will feel the same, I'm sure. Congratulations again.....

Did you purchase direct from Disney, and have you already completed the paperwork? If not you will receive a small box of items that includes the Vacation Planner and point charts. Also you will receive the papers you will need to sign and send back.

You can also call your Guide and ask the guide to send you an email with the 2010 points attached.

Once you start to plan your first vacation using your DVC points you'll find everything makes more sense.

Listen to the previous posters and you can't go wrong. As mentioned earlier there is the members only site where you can plan your trips home and manage your points. You should be getting your membership information shortly. Wasting points? Impossible! "Welcome Home!"
