We just joined (actually, closing pending), but our account is already active (I guess they trusted the downpayment)

Just made our first ressie at our home resort for December 06!

Interesting thing - on the member website it actually lists a
'2005 use year' for us - with 314 credits (we bought 200, took the 200 matching - 86 i've used).. and the '2006 use year' has 200..
I doubt that's correct though but I could wish.. heh

I'm leaning towards the fact that yes, I do have 314 pts left for Dec 06 - Nov 07.. but the computer or website (dvcmember.com) just doesn't know how to 'handle' the extra 200 pts they gave us on top of our dec 06 use year 200 pts..

I would seriously doubt they gave me pts for a 05 use year also but i guess i could dream...heh

I'll have to call tomorrow and see

As to your points. If you (for example) had a December UY, you would have your 200 Points from UY 2005, as that is the current UY, and all 200 available for 2006 UY which does not occur until December 1, 2006.

We too are new members (just bought in May '06) and are planning our Dec. '06 (and May '07) trips. We'll be staying at SSR.

Just going through a similar thing, we're in the last stages of closing too. I looked at my points and found I had an extra 150 points I got really excited about it but they say its a glitch on the website and that Member Services have the real story. Anyway lets keep hoping

What they told me when I called is this.

Once you make your first ressie, the leftover 05 points are banked into the next year, which shows your 06 points as whatever you bought plus whatever 05 points you didnt' use for your first reservation.

I haven't looked on the webpage yet to see how mine looks, but I did get a shock when I went to reserve for F&W and was asked "Do you want to borrow from your 06 points?" I said "Huh, I should still have 120+ 05 points left." That's when they looked it up and saw the remaining points had been banked when I booked my first reservation.

We'll be at SSR Dec 19-23.. had to initially book studio*2d and 1br*2d, but just found out we got the confirmation for a studio all 4d now.. yay

We stayed at BWV the first time - and found it very convenient because of boardwalk and epcot/mgm.. never having 'stayed' at SSR, have people who have stayed there found it to be too much of a walk ? (We have a 5 and a 2) who I was initially concerned about the 'spread out' of SSR, but figured it should be ok anyways...

Any thoughts?
