New DVC member gone wild

We became DVC members in Nov 2010. Since I have become a planning maniac. I first planned our annual Thanksgiving trip at OKW. Then DH and I decided we wanted to try a cruise so be booked our first cruise on the Dream for Sept thru our wonderful AAA TA (didn't want to use our points--I had other plans--) After a few days I convinced DH we needed to stay the night before our cruise at VWL and then drive over to the Port the next morning. Few days later I made the statement we needed to get the DDP plan too since we were staying at the WL we had to eat at WCC for dinner and we wanted to try RF's for breakfast. So at 7 mos out I was making reservations. A week or so went by and another Decided that the kids and I needed a few days break after school was out and since DH would be on his annual motorcycle ride, I invited my mom to go with us to OKW. I went to 1 trip per year since 2003 to 3 stays and a cruise in 2011. I love it!!!!!

I only got two trips out of DH in 2011--one in May and one with my parents in Oct. I was out of points for part of the May trip so I purchased 9 points from Disney since we were within 7 months...then I decided to fly us in a day early in May since the flight was cheaper and low and behold I needed another night at AKV . So I had to rent a one night reservation from a great friend for our first night in May.


I am an addict, I tell you ...AN ADDICT !!

I hear ya...

We became owners in October with enough points for our yearly August trip.....

To celebrate our ownership we went for an adults only weekend in Jan.....
We booked our August trip at 11 months....
Now we just decided to go over Spring Break in April......

And to think, when October comes around again we will get MORE points ....
I know its only been a few months, but I love my DVC

Same here! We purchased AP's and DVC last year and have gone much more frequently, and have 3 trips planned for later this year!

The excitement does not go away over time either. We joined in 1992 when OKW was the only DVC. Nearly 20 years later and we still enjoy our trips. We went in January and will be back in September for one night before the DVC members cruise and 3 nights after. You have years of memories in your future.

I hear you! We bought October 2009. We have been 3 times already! Going in May nd I am sure when I get home I will be planning for October!

I can relate. We purchased our first DVC contract Nov, 2009 and immediately made reservations for a trip in May, 2010. Before we even made our trip in May, we made another DVC purchase and started planning for our next trip the week after Thanksgiving, 2010. It was "pedal to the metal" planning for a year and I was in heaven! In 2011, we are banking our points for 2012 so I am suffering from WDWPWS (WDW Planning Withdrawal Syndrome)!! The only thing saving me is we are trying to purchase another small DVC contract before the 3/21/11 resale contract change deadline! There is hope for me though. We will return to WDW May, 2012 with our adult children and then DW and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary at Aulani the week after Labor day, 2012! Woohoo...lots of planning to do!

When we bought our first contract, we thought we would be going every other year.

After the first trip, we knew we had made a horrible horrible mistake..........once a year wouldn't be enough and we are constantly planning!

I guess I'm not the only one who plans for a May and October trip every year.Its our favorite times to visit.Sounds like Flower and garden & food and wine draws us in.Except for this year.WERE GOING IN 6 DAYS! Wilderness Lodge first time stay!

Guilty! We joined last Feb and with "2009" points, 2010 points and a add on which came with 2009 points I ended up going in May with girlfriends to celebrate her 50 bday, Dec to celebrate DH birthday, and Feb with the family! Now I am having withdrawal because I think our next trip will not be until Feb 2012!

Welcome to the frenzy! I always have at least 2 trips booked at any one time! This June a little graduation trip for my son and a few (6) of his friends at OKW and Aug, a water park and outlet mall trip at Kidany before school starts mid Aug!
