New DVC at river country?

Just heard from a friend whose family member does design work for Disney that design work is done on a resort for where River Country was. My friend has seen the design and said it is really nice. She is not sure if it is DVC but thinks it is. She is not crazy about Disney like me,but she called me to tell me since she knows I am. I will try to find out more. He is there at Disney now.

I know this rumor was reported earlier, and died down with the expansion of GF. I was more excited about River Country, so we'll just have to see what happens.

Is River Country area on the opposite side of Bay Lake, near MK? They are building that multi-million dollar a home community called Golden Oak and a Four Seasons Resort. Could that be it? I just got a mailing on it.

OMG, I'm so much more excited about this than about GF. And I'm so pleasantly surprised that someone else here said the same thing. I'd just love to see a DVC at River Country

Last spring there were plans on one of the web sites I frequent showing placement of the resort. I always wished that the Wilderness Lodge DVC had been bigger, but a River Country option would compliment WL and I for one am interested!

If DVC does build in RC, would they keep the woodsy/camping sort of feel? Or would they maybe go in a whole other direction? It's not like Disney can't change the look of the land if they want to. If you hear any word on what sort of resort it will be, do let us know, OP. (Although I'd be surprised if your friend passed on that kind of info!)

What does anyone else think? Is it a slam dunk DVC campground? Or could it be something else?

One more thought....is there enough land/space to make it a condo-style DVC (think SSR)? Or would it be a traditional hotel-style (think BWV)? My hope would be the latter.

My family would really like this resort. We stayed once in the cabins at FW and we all enjoyed the campground atmosphere even though we are not campers. Also like that it is just a boat ride away from MK. Keep us posted if you find out any other news!
