I believe Disney said it was the most popular(ridden) ride at WDW. I think it is fine for them to double it for that reason alone. I'm just worried that when they move it, it won't be nearly as popular.
I will agree that a new attraction/experience would have been more original on Disney's part but at least the old single spinner should be kept no matter what. A new attraction would have taken up a whole lot more space than a dueling spinner though. However they seem to have a lot of space in Circus Land and don't seem to be doing much with it.
While I'm not big on the whole circus theme, for the new land, I do like the idea of an expanded Dumbo experience. It is a classic Disney film that I am found of so it's nice to see it get a little love.
I just think a little miniland ambience around the Dumbo ride would have been enough for me. I cringe at the thought of the old Toon Town being an entire Circus themed land. I think that area is just destined to ba a failure...
Dumbo is certainly the most popular ride among the 7 and under set, and maybe even the most ridden by that demographic, but it's by no means the most ridden ride in the park. It simply doesn't have the capacity to be. Dumbo has to completely stop between rides to let people on and off, as opposed to, for example, the Haunted Mansion, that runs continuously. Haunted Mansion can handle around 2000 riders an hour. Dumbo, only a small fraction of that.
