New DTD Entrance Starting Today?

Just saw on someone posted that as of today there is a new entrance to Disneyland from the Simba garage. I've never been to Disneyland and am clueless as to what this means, we arrive Saturday and had planned to enter through DTD. Help!?

Where’s the new entrance? You would have walk to Downtown Disney.

I think this might be someone mixing up names? As mentioned, Simba is past/behind PPH and it isn't located in a place where it would have a new entrance. Simba also is not a garage- its just a surface parking lot.

Perhaps the post was actually referring to the new Pixar Pals parking structure (which is adjacent to Mickey and Friends) and new security and tram loading area there but used the wrong name? The tram area opened about a week ago and the parking structure opened yesterday, I believe. But as far as driving there, I don't think there's a new entrance for parking for Pixar Pals, it just increases the capacity of the Mickey and Friends area and you go in the same entrance. It's just a matter of where they direct you to park.

Thanks! I was wondering about that since it did look like there was going to be something when I went through there in late May. Is this the main way to enter the new garage or will people also get directed there from Mickey & Friends entrance?

So I just saw a repost of I think what OP was referring to- it’s an announcement that PARKING for Downtown Disney is now only in the Simba lot and the Stitch lot off Magic Way is no longer available.

So @taymaesmom this shouldn’t affect your plans to enter through DTD as this was just for the short term parking to visit DTD. The security entrance (on foot) at the end of DTD near the DLH is unchanged or if you park in Mickey & Friends/Pixar Pals you will go thru security before taking the tram to DTD.

Nope but it took me less than 5 minutes to u turn back around to Mickey and friends entrance. I was still able to park in Pixar pals by using the bridge on the level I was sent to on Mickey and friends.

It will likely only be open in the morning hours. WAY back when the Pinocchio lot existed (where they built the Pixar Pals structure), that was also an entrance into M&F, but it was only open until about noon daily.
