#1HM~ The little baby is asleep. It's the tiniest one we've ever had. So sweet and docile. Just LOVE having new beginnings in the home.

Have to agree w/BT~poolside fare at the S/D is the BEST anywhere on property. The Chicken Caesar is one of my FAVS (especially served in the lo-carb BREAD BOWL...LOL). Mmmmm.

I appreciate you picking up the ball... ! I had to go become one with my pillow... I am now a single mother and father to DD15 and DD9 for the next 3 weeks! DH has taken DD3 down to the Sunshine Therapy program in Miami to learn how to sit up by herself! OOOH! I can't wait! I'm already suffering withdrawals... called him twice on his cell phone on the way down, and he called twice after they got there! LOL! (This was only the first night they've been gone!)

One chickie out the door to school, one to go then I'm off to work (HEIGH HO!)

DF~ Loved your new little chickie! I am thinking of getting DD3 a little toy poodle to see if that would stimulate her a little more. We've already had (and have) cats, birds, hamsters, fish, ....! Of course, DH says he won't walk that dog... it would be UNMANLY! LOL! (Well maybe he wouldn't mind strolling DD3 while she walks him?)

I am up to part 12 of my trip report and still have a few days left worth posting... will work on that later!

I have an actual, relevant, on topic question this morning

Is there a penalty for checking out a night early? We haven't decided whether or not we want to leave on 4/1 or 4/2 yet. If the crowds aren't horrific and the weather's good we might stay through 4/2....

I'm living in denial as I read about driving, college, etc. My oldest is 14 and those days will be here before I know it. He starts high school in August and I'm having enough trouble handling that, LOL.....

Disbug, I can't wait to hear how your DD does with her therapy, good luck with the single parenting {{hugs}}

Hope all goes well w/little DD, and she is sitting up by herself in no time. : The "chickie" is currently sitting atop a heat rock (covered by soft cloths), snuggled under a feather duster...too funny. The poodle is a WONDERFUL idea. Here's an option for DH to take Fido for a walk:

Madge~That's a "tricky" question. Usually, the cancellation policy would be in effect (standard), and you would be charged a fee if you failed to cancel in time. BUT...if you are already in the resort, and thinking of staying/leaving (1-day), it may be different. I would contact the front desk upon arrival, and explain your intentions. They should be able to assist you with this matter.

*Seems like yesterday...DD was 14. Time FLIES when they reach K-Garten (IMHO). When ever I recall the years between birth and 5, the memories are clear/vivid. It was as if "time stood still" during those years. Once she entered K-Garten...it's more of a Blur, accentuated by "events" and "Holidays." It just seems to Whiz past (faster & faster) more with each year.

**One of the VERY BEST THINGS about the Swan/Dolphin resorts...is the LATE CHECK-OUT offered to SPG members! Everyone can call and request late check-out, but Gold/Plat members receive a 4:00 pm late check-out as a standard perk. It is SO nice to be able to relax some on your last day. Taking time to pack, etc. At the DISNEY-OWNED resorts, they completely removed all late check-out possibilities after 9/11. Even in Concierge, it was a bit difficult requesting late check-out. They would NEVER permit us to stay until 4:00 PM w/o paying!!

**The PBH offers late check-out as well. Plat Loews paying with Plat. AMEX receive 4:00 pm check-out too. We use this every year. It's wonderful!

Since my kids are each 6 years apart, I am reminded every day how fast time flies....have a 14 year old and a 2 year old keeps things in perspective, sometimes That's why we enjoy WDW so much...plenty of fun for eveyone!

thanks for the tip about asking at check-in. what we may do is utilize the 4pm checkout. Stay and play for the day and the get a jump-start on the drive in the late afternoon. Not a bad idea at all.....

LOVE the LATE CHECK-OUT!~It's absolutely priceless. Since we leave from MCO in the late afternoon, or early eve...we always use this feature to our advantage. We have even stayed in the room until a little after 4, (after clearing this with the front desk), then visited the CL lounge for some afternoon refreshments prior to leaving for MCO. It's just SO much more convenient than being "forced" out of the room at 11:00 am!!

*One more reason to LOVE these resorts!!!

Thanks to all who wrote to encourage me about the possible cancellation of my trip ( a few pages back!). I did read all the responses and they made me feel warm and fuzzy...

Kind of like you feel when you sink into that heavenly bed after a long day. I still don't know the outcome of our plans but the good news is that DH has not told me to cancel (reschedule, actually) yet. Since we are supposed to be going to FL for a race, the good news is that we went out to test his car this weekend and it was flying! Quarter mile pass in 7.30 seconds at 186mph. I think DH would love to be able to go race if AT ALL POSSIBLE.

So there is still a little hope for us.

While as dissapointing as this situation is, it is not the end of the world. I am most grateful that my children took the news with a maturity and grace beyond their years.

On topic...on our last visit to the Dolphin we got a 4pm late check out but our housekeeper didn't seem to believe us. She got a little put out that we wouldn't vacate! I guess I should have reported her but never did. We had the nicest swim that day before heading back for the long drive.

Dreamflight... you have family in Horseheads? wow, I live outside of Ithaca. Yes we still have at least 16 inches of snow on the grounds, but there's actually a patch of grass showing here and there with our balmy 50 degree temps lately. soon "mud" season will begin

when we were preferred, we were offered late checkout for a fee. I can't remember how much is was, though. $30 or $40 sticks in my mind....and we had a 2pm checkout.

Another question about the rooms. I just checked my reservation online and noticed "movie/games/video checkouts" listed on there. The "check-outs" part makes me wonder if there are VCRs in the room. Are there? If so, I'll pack of few of the kids' favorites to make our mornings a bit easier.

Hold-On!!~ I'm so happy there's STILL hope for you. Wow...Racing cars too? We have another Sister whom is into RACING too. (It's a small world).

Lisa BC~You're in God's country! What a beautiful place (upstate NY) it is!! Steeped in the history/names of the Iroquois Nation, all the finger lakes, Watkin's Glen, Seneca Falls (1848 1st women's convention) and the Gourge...etc. My sister worked (RN) at Cayuga med. ctr. before moving here. She misses the people, and the area. Ahhh...Carl Sagan territory (Cornell). It's just so spectacular up there, with all the hills, blue spruce, etc. I had a DF whom lived in Oneonta. Can you tell I miss it too?

*Dolphin late check-out: They may offer it complimentary, if occupancy permits. As Madge suggested, definitely ask about it at the time you check-in. They will most likely tell you to call back the eve prior to your departure day. Because things change so much from day to day, they truly can not offer it any sooner. Again, this is the usual standard...and you may get an associate whom says "YES" at check-in, and makes a note in your reservation! I'll send some positive vibes your way.


Piglette~No VCR's to my knowledge. The Video check-out is performed through the Television on the first channel/screen. In fact, you can always access your folio and charges, anytime you wish, from this screen. There is a check-out page, and a survey offered at the end of your stay. The movies are "pay per view" (varied prices), and the video games are also through the Tele (w/controllers attached). The price for the games is $6.95 per hour, and the hour can be played in increments! So, if your son/daughter were to play for 20 minutes, the program keeps track...and offers them 40 minutes remaining. It's not too bad, and wonderfully convenient. DD brings her game cube, which hooks into the television. We all play with the wireless controllers, and race one another (Mario, etc.) on rainy days! (LOL).

*Average Joe failed to pick the BOSTONIAN (my fav), and then dropped the wierdest bomb (I dated Fabio?!? ). Whole thing was too phony. I thought of mouseteacher when I saw the bay, the city skyline and the home of the SOX!!
