(it is a Heavenly Crib, not a pack n play) was in the corner by the window, just under the thermostat. You may have to move a bench that is sometimes there. Just move the bench over in front of the window. This bench can be used for extra seating. The nice thing about the crib is you can store a suitcase underneath for maximizing your space. We put a battery operated mobile on our DD2's crib so it would be more normal for sleep time... Baby version of white noise! We also would bring a portable CD player to play lullabys, just in case. By hanging blankets on two sides of the crib, your baby won't be able to see "out" only up! Unless he is old enough to stand up, then you are doomed and will have to move him to the bathroom vanity area!

If you put the crib in the bathroom/vanity area you've pretty much isolated yourselves from the bathroom, which is not an option in our family!:earseek: But if that works better for your family, yes, there is a "hidden" area from the beds.

Make sure you reserve your crib when you make your reservations!

Thanks, Disbug! Yes, unfortunately, he can see "up". But as long as we can put the criib in the vanity area, we can get a full night's sleep. Knowing that's an option is a *huge* relief.

Good Morning All,

Still live from the Swan. I have a few minutes to post before we head off to our character breakfast at O'Hana.

I got your nice sunny pictures of the view from my balcony ready to post. I have some time later today to try and figure out how to do the posting. :sunny:

I met Thabo today and he was a delight. I told him that he is quite famous on these boards and that everyone says hello. He says hi back.

I saw Wishes last night and thought it was phenomenal. It was by far the best fireworks that I have ever seen. They were even better than Boston's July 4th fireworks and I thought that they were great.

Got to run now...

Joanne

Denise,

you didn't think the A/C/ blew straight down on the crib under the vent? that was our concern putting it in that spot. maybe it was just the A/C in our room, LOL....that is the logical spot for the crib, though. we put ours right next to the TV.

we were told the cribs at the Dolphin are nice, but they are not heavenly, LOL. this was in September :) we prefer them to the pack & plays at the WDW resorts. they are nice.

I told you you'd get some help piglette :)

I didn't notice that any air was blowing down directly on the crib madge... she got the most rest in that location which means.... (we got the most rest, too!) I think piglette has it worse though, if her DS can even SEE them, he won't rest until he's picked up. So they need a partition of some sort. I would investigate one of those cool pop up tents I've seen that go over cribs to help keep children from climbing out! If it is collapsible like those front dash sunshields, it might be practical! With 3 girls, our family MUST have midnight access to the bathroom!

Good morning, sorority!

Piglette, I was going to suggest the vanity area for the crib if you can tiptoe by when you need to use the bathroom. It would be an ideal location for the baby to be out of sight of mom and dad. I found the Dolphin standard room to be quite adequate. Oldest DS slept on the floor to escape DH loud snoring(our white noise) and we still had room to squeeze-walk by him -- at least we weren't stepping on his head if we needed to make a bathroom run in the middle of the night.

The cash and points was an awesome promotion! We used it last summer at the Swan. The rate of $60 a night was incredible and we were upgraded to that beautiful jr. suite. That trip was filled with S/D pixie dust. :wizard:

jmcross~ thanks for posting inside the S/D. I am so glad you are loving your stay. It is 9 degrees in Boston today! :(

I understand about the bathroom, with 2 boys ::yes::

I also agree about the pop-up tent, or a sheet on the side of the bed. in that spot it just might work! Piglette had asked this question in another thread and I tried to help her out there. other than next to the wondows or the TV, I can't think of another place in the standard room that a crib would fit.

about the A/C, I bet those vents blow air in all directions. I imagine there are no 2 rooms the same. as long as it's cold, I don't care, LOL!

Thanks to all of you. I think we should be fine with DS in the bathroom vanity area. Glad to know there's room there. We put him there at WL over Christmas, and somehow managed to sneak by to use the restroom in the middle of the night (no flushing allowed!).

The Jr Suite is pretty much out of the question for us. If it's 10k Starwood points/night to upgrade x 6 nights, we'd have to transfer 180k American Express points to get them. With 180k Amex points, we could get 144 Southwest credits, which is NINE round-trip tickets. Unless I'm completely confused, there's just no way to justify it since we don't have the Starwood points in hand. And paying $450 more for the week for the upgrade seems high too.

But, since the crib will fit in the bathroom, our problems are solved and we're ALL READY for our trip!

Thanks for all of your input. It definitely put my mind at ease.

Piglette ~ I think you will be fine putting the crib in the vanity area. The cribs are nice full size cribs, my babies seem to sleep best in a crib that is like their own at home :). Disbug also had a great idea to bring the mobile from home to put on the crib. We always use that trick and it seems as if they think they are home...:) Have a great trip to WDW and the Dolphin :)

I am a little confused on where to post anything else :) I was looking at the WL thread and it seems as if they have started a new WL thread and moved the chat to community board... Is that correct ???

We have been posting over at the Sigma Delta Sorority thread... just click on the "sigma delta luv ya mean it" link in my signature if you don't want to look for it!

Glad everyone is all set and ready to go!

DF and the rest of you guys were bringing me out of lurking mode, now I'm a little hesitant, but continuing on anyway. You're a great group but I understand there are usually rules and limitations to everything. :sunny:

I know that the Dolphin has free wireless internet. I have a laptop that is wireless capable. What next? I faintly remember it being discussed about 2 threads ago but my trip wasn't iminent at that time. Can one of you experts help? :teeth:

tink44~ I can't help - I don't have a laptop yet. But, I know DF and #1HM can help you when they come back on.

Sorry! Can't help you with wireless access, but with the high speed net access you need an ethernet card. You will be plugging their cord into the your laptop *not the phone line plug, the larger plug* and accessing their homepage. It is very easy to do! From their homepage, you can surf where you want to go. Hope that helps!

Thanks for answering mouseteacher and #1 hockeymom. I think I did it again  (a la Tom vs Richard Petty). I do have the Ethernet card and cable to plug into their system. For some reason  (that's what I get for trying to avoid the hormones, if you get my drift) I thought it was wireless internet.

In a Starwood property in Dallas they also had the high speed internet and you're right, it was easy to do. Thanks! :wave2:

No problem Tink44! Please let me know when they really do have the Tom Petty driving/guitar playing experience, as I always seem to call it that, also! :)

Debbie

PS I am about to cancel April 9-16 Dolphin CL teacher rate reservations. I will hold off a few days in case anyone wants to time their phone call to pick up my newly opened teacher rate dates. PM or email me if interested! I can tell you it won't be tomorrow as we have a hockey playoff game that night.

#1-

Hey! My 100th post! ::yes::

Okay so it only took me 4 years.

But most of them were on the Swan/Dolphin thread. :sunny:

tink44 ~ congrats on your 100th post :)

Can anyone help me with the points converted to dining $$ at the Dolphin. Will they just take this off my final bill at checkout. What restaurants are the points good at? If someone could please just go over how this works... Thanks :)

How nice to see your spanking-new thread! I'll be at the Swan in 11 days...but only for 1 night before a Caribbean cruise (not DCL) with my mom. Still - one night at the Swan is better than none!

Instant Awards(SM)

Redeem your Starpoints(SM) for in-hotel indulgences, from a massage to dinner and more. Choose Instant Awards(SM) for spontaneous redemptions, so you can reward yourself at a moment's notice. Simply ask which Instant Awards are available when you check in.

$10 = 750 pts.
$20 = 1500
$40 = 3000
$60 = 4500
$80 = 6000
$100 = 7500

Each hotel is different. I imagine you would just charge your meals to your room and the difference would be settled when you check out. Be sure to ask for your Instant Awards when you check in. They can be used everywhere including room service, but am unsure about the new BLUE ZOO and FRESH.

Thanks Denise :) I am getting ready to do the single digit dance :hyper: We have not been to WDW since October of 2002! So it's been awhile and we are really looking foward to a family vacation !
