Don't have anything on topic to add...so, I'll just read for now..:( :( :(

Hello, KelliR! Glad you are caught up and back with us. That is a good idea and shouldn't be too hard to do if we keep both threads on page 1! LOL! I'm so glad to hear you are getting to go again this Thursday....

DisneyDMBNut ~ NO SMOKING in bed! I'm not sure what happens when feathers meet fire? :p Dreamflight is excellent at turning words into a real vision, is she not? I think she is a writer for her "Day Job"!

Welcome Fantasia Sam and sarahsmom73!

Valentine Enjoyed your day, yesterday!
:p The countdown phrase about my DD9 singing at the MK is a group thing not a solo. Her school will be singing and I must Chaperone, of course!

Dreamflight That was my DD9 in the hallway photo under the beach umbrella. I also took another one of DD15 and DD9 on either side of the beach ball. It turned out great.

I am going to try to do CL from a requested room with a balcony. Question: Can I reserve this in advance with points or do I need to wait until 5 days prior to my check in date?

Going over to the sorority thread now! Happy Sunday all!

Picture Posting Refresher Course!!!!

I signed up with Sony Imagestation. www.imagestation.com - its a free service and you can also order prints etc. Once you have downloaded the photo from your camera to your PC, size it down small enough so that it is easy to upload without taking an hour to do it. You can create albums etc there too. However, to get the picture onto here then......

RIGHT click on the photo in imagestation. Select Properties. In the grey window that pops up, highlight the Address/URL of the photo. RIGHT click and copy. Then to to the IMG selection above where you are typing your post here (in the vB Code section directly above the Your Reply section). Click IMG. In the Script Prompt window that pops up, RIGHT click and paste the address in the white box and click ok. You should now see a picture of a high flip at UW Madison Bowl Game.

This should allow us to all view the picture.

It can be very addicting and really fun once you get going with it.
You can look at peoples kids (aren't you excited):

You can look at peoples cars (isn't ours pretty!)
fbd5f996.jpg

The first time or two or three it may be a little time consuming but once you have the hang of it, you will be addicted!!!!

Just keep practicing. I don't know why some of my photos are so tiny this time - the first time I posted them they were larger. I think someone must have cut my posting space!!! (Trekker, was that you?)

AND - the new edit version with the directions - if you photos are coming out small, then remove the thumb.jpg description from the text, as this indicates thumbnail!!!

:wave2: just a quick hello to the sorority house. I was unable to DIS yesterday and now I have a lot of reading to catch up on; but won't be able to accomplish that until this evening!

I can post pictures of the Swan jr. suite if anyone is interested (trying to stay on topic :D ).

DF (or others) I know you mentioned that during your Dolphin stays, you often run a "White Noise Machine" since you like to stay on Cali. time. Do you use a fan? CD?

Thanks! :D

Some people use fans, and or a machine to produce white noise. I usually rely on snoring (mine or DH's) to produce a similar effect!:p

Sorority members please journey to Sigma Delta (click on my signature) for a Questionaire to fill out about the July DisMeet.

For anyone who missed it on the other thread, valet parking rates have gone up to $14 daily at the Swan and Dolphin. This fee does not include other resorts, so if you drive to dinner at the Grand Floridian and park, please expect to pay another valet parking fee there. Also, does not include tip.

Marymrg~For white noise...I prefer a box or standing fan (blowing air away from me...strictly for noise). When at the PBH...just call for the AIR PURIFIER, it more than does the trick~! It creates a nice steady "hum" while also cleaning the air. When I leave there, I stop by the local Walmart for a $10 box fan. I use this for the remainder of the trip (it's a Godsend on the Cruises, as the rooms..yes even with balconies...tend to be stuffy). We just leave the fan behind when we exit. ::yes:: We get more than our money's worth for this expenditure. It definitely permits us to remain on "Cali time" for our entire stay. We sleep right through the Mousekeepers "banging and bumping, vaccing, and Mini-Bar" activity. It works wonders! ::yes::

Disbug~You are TOO Funny! :rotfl:
Thanks for the Valet parking fee increase and info. I'll stop by the SDS thread later. ;) I recall the photo of your DD's in the Hall, and intend to do the same this summer (before it's removed). You have some WONDERFUL ideas! Thanks. :goodvibes:

You should be able to reserve the Balcony room in advance, and just attach the CL privs with points, etc. You should not have to wait until 5-days prior to your arrival.

*"Thanks for the compliment regarding my literary skills. Do you know my pseudonym, or have you been chatting with Trekker?"

mouseteacher~ :wave2: :chat: with you later!

jmcross~YES!! I have a photo request! Anything with the SKY in the photo...such as a view from your balcony, with trees...sunshine and BLUE SKIES! Always makes my heart pitter patter and I can almost smell/taste WDW. :teeth: Thank you for asking. You're such dearhearts to post from your vacation, taking time to give us dry-docked folks a "taste" of the MAGIC! :hugs:

So Happy to hear your suitcase arrived, safe and sound. Wonderful news, Joanne. Please let me know how you enjoyed the EMH, and if/when you will see WISHES yet? Have fun!

sarahsmom73~You're welcome! Feel free to join in whenever you wish. We love nothing more than helping others with queries aboiut the Swan/Dolphin and WDW in general. And remember...it's a HEALTHY ADDICTION (There are much worse!). :p

Fantasia Sam~ You're welcome!

madge~You are the QUEEN princess: of SECRETS! I did the same with the cruise last summer, and it was tough keeping it from DD all the time, especially since we were at WDW for more than a month before we embarked on the Wonder! She was literally stunned, which made the effort so rewarding. :sunny:

DisneyDmbNut~:jumping1: Perhaps you could "accidentally" drop the cigarette on your own mattress? Just be sure to keep an extinguisher close at hand! I believe Disney resorts will NEVER have anything even "close" to this type of mattress/bedding, as folks would never leave the BED/ROOM! Besides, every good commando knows you only need two, maybe three hours of sleep each night to get around WDW! :teeth: So a straw-filled mattress is JUST the thing to get you UP & AT 'EM! (LOL)

Jgates~Thanks for the refresher course, and the link to the SONY page! I use this all the time, and LOVE it! Now, others can too. Great tip. ::yes::

Enjoy this glorious SUNDAY! Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. It's always extra~special around here, with a romatic DH & loving, imaginative DD!

Does the Swan have self parking? If so, is there a charge for that?

FredS~Hello! YES, the Swan has "self-parking", which is still FREE of charge. It's similar to the Dolphin, which is also N/C. When I'm at the PBH, the Valet charge is only a few $$ more than the self-parking, so I always go VALET. Well, when the difference is $14 per day? Hmmm...$14 buys a LOT of DISNEY~FUN! So, self-parking is a great way to go while at the Swan/Dolphin. :sunny:

I am back! I see an old thread was ended... a new thread was started... I see the beginning of a beautiful bright new tomorrow!

Joanne>> SO glad you liked my room recommendation! We were the last room on the 7th, on the corner and loved it! Ended up having the slider for the balcony facing EPCOT, and a giant window facing the Dolphin.

I am trying to catch up, but I do have tomorrow off after sleeping on a NON heavenly bed in a subpar hotel where we didn't take first (third)... well not every day can be a Disney day, right?

I have a picture request!! Please post a picture of your view, from the balcony! I need a Swolphin fix!

please tell me where we're supposed to post! (you know... the good stuff!) I think I am lost! lost.... what a sad word today!

*sorority wave to all... including our honorary brothers and our wlvisitingvets*

LOL...I still have 5+ weeks to go. we'll see how well the secret is kept :)

has anyone here used D.U. to book a room at the Dolphin?

Debbie, I am wondering the same thing? Where do we post the good stuff now? You know, the stuff about our families and day to day lives? I miss the old thread...

I will stay on topic though and mention the BlueZoo (again) It is located right by the escalator. Try the cantonese lobster!

This on-topic info I really would like a review on - not just to keep us on topic!!!

I have Club Level during my reservation, as I did last time - but last time I only made use of the lounge. Obviously we have discussed multiple times the breakfast items available, snacks in the evening, (all the fruit- nummy!!!) etc. But are there other items club level offers you? Perhaps DF or someone could give us (& me!) a slight review of what other items Club Level provides to the customer.

? Robes ?
? Turn-down ?
? Priority Seating (& how about those hard PS's like Princess Brkfsts?)
? Are we better off calling the concierge to try to get us things like that than to do it ourself?

Give us some insight on this DF!

Hockeymom1 - at least it wasn't last place!!! Anytime we came home with a trophy we considered it a miracle. DH is back off to training and I am listing about 30 auctions on eBay tonite. That should keep me out of trouble. Got to get that Disney $$$$$!!!!

I'm not Lisa, but here's what I remember about the CL :)

robes? I don't think....

turn down? absolutely! complete with chocolate, yum...

I don't know why my pics are small either.

Debbie - we had robes in our jr. suite and in our CL room. DF has posted thatif the robes are not there just call mousekeeping and they will bring them. Turndown service was wonderful, too! Congrats on the trophy. I am on winter vacation this week! Are you?

DisneydmbNut~ please drop in here anytime! It was very sad reading the animosity that was brought to your wonderful WL thread.

When you are linking your pictures to your post you are linking the "thumbnail" size. Just go back and edit your post. The html language of your image will have thumbnail right after.jpg and you should delete just that part that says thumbnail. You pictures will automatically resize.
::yes::

I know you get turndown, although you can call and request turndown for any room at the "Swolphin". I believe you get robes, also. I forgot to request them and I was in a nontraditional CL room so they weren't there. I can add that I called down on day one to request more coffee for DH and was given enough coffee packets to wake up a small army! We stored them under the outside sink and left the remainders on the counter when we left the resort.

PS's you make through the regular concierge desk. You can stop or call down. They were very good about getting everything I wanted, and about changing and rechanging PSs. I much prefered calling down to the concierge desk, than calling Disney Dining and waiting on hold. Something about hearing "How may I help you Mrs. W, just brightens my day!"

Jgates>> Good point! We took first place at our last two tournaments. That in itself is fantastic! I do believe another Flint team (rival) probably took first at this across state tournament. They were going into the finals and If they play like they usually do they'll take it all! Two tournaments ago it was Flint v. Flint in the finals! Granted, we're from a five county area, but that is our skating home! (yikes.. off topic.. sorry!)

Speaking of which.... what happened to.....

I did a search on "that name" and found it interesting that to every question that was answered for them, they NEVER once said thank you! I can add to that by saying that we never ran into a rude guest or child at the Swan when we were there! It is truly a wonderful place to stay!

Does anyone know if they're starting to take PSs for Fresh? Is it becoming overly popular? I would like to stop in for breakfast or lunch during our Easter trip! *and thank you in advance!* :)

*rewave*

Disbug>> extra bonus points for guessing my favorite color!

Debbie
