Good morning all. I check in often but don't always post. THings are getting closer for us as well, and I can't wait!!

To all those who are enjoying their Sunday, it is a beautifully sunny day here, but still rather chilly. I will take the sun any day though!

For all of those with illness in the family, my prayers and thoughts are with you.

As far as Dolphin views are concerned (reading about the upgrades), can someone list them for me. I am quite confused.
We have "resort view" listed in our ressies, but then further along it says "View of Crescent Lake". Can someone explain?

Thanks. Happy Sunday!

Cathy

Good Morning & a Happy Sunday to all!:wave2:

Getting very excited about my upcoming trip, but have had very little time to post (or even think about the Dolphin)!

Mouseteacher, I appreciate your situation... after mass and teaching my first grade catechism class today I am embarking on my first module to join the National Reading Academy:earseek:
I am thrilled our school was awarded a Nat'l Reading First Grant but I am very "red tape" challenged

DF99- You, my dear, are a class act! After catching up on some old posts, I just wanted to add that:smooth:

To all those with illness and hardship in their family, I'd like to join the others in my prayers for you and the group hug :grouphug:

Mompoppins- welcome home, rest up and spill all the glorious details of your trip!:sunny:

Off to enjoy the sunny but slightly frigid NY air!

Good Morning all.. It was nice to sleep in my own bed after being gone for 2 weeks. We had a great time! The weather was just right, it even got up to close to 90 a few days. I packed the jackets but we never needed them. It did start to cool off on our last day. The girls swam in the grotto pool and loved the slide. The water was to cool for me... :) I inquired at the front desk and was told they were heated to 78 degrees, but it still felt too cold for me. The hot-tub was very warm and nice :)

Our room was our same suite from 2 years ago :), It was not updated yet, but was fine. We could see the Epcot fireworks nightly from our room. I met Thabo at the Club lounge and we talked about the disboards. He talked about meeting Denise/Disbug recentlly. When he asked if I had ever met her... I said yes :) Later I thought about it and realized he probably meant in person, I just feel like we have ALL met and it just popped out... :) The club lounge was fantastic as always. I ate enough chocolate croisants for all of us.:teeth: They moved the club lounge to the first floor on March 10th. until March 28th. They were getting ready to remodel the 12th. floor and club lounge.

The parks were comfortable the first week we were there. The crowds began to pick up on Sunday the 7th. and were busier on week of the 7th. We used early entry for Magic Kingdom a few times and it worked out. We loved being so close to MGM and Epcot and spent most of our afternoon and evening at these parks. I loved the new 3D show(Mickey's Philharmagic) at Magic Kingdom, it was so good. Mission Space was..... well...... to much for me to handle... I don't like being so closed in... and the space is very small. DD 14 and DH loved it though. We used fast pass and hardly ever stood in line for anything. I can never understand why more people don't use fast pass.

All the restaurants were great. We enjoyed our Castle breakfast and we also dined with Pooh and friends at the Crystal palace. We also ate at RFC and Mama Melrose. We loved eating around the world and discovered we liked the food in Germany which we had never tried in the past. We ate at all the counter services around the world on 2 different nights. It's so much fun to sample all the different foods.

Junior loved the characters and liked it when they interacted with him. Sarah (2) also loved the characters. We did get some autographs, but did not want to stand in long lines so we skipped a lot of them.

Please let me know if you have any questions, I tried to hit on the highlights. All and all we had a great trip. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Waving to the room

I have a lot of pages to read through and get caught up on everyone.... :wave2:

Your trip sounds wonderful MP and I'm glad you had a chocolate croissant for me (although one is never enough!) I love reading of everyone's adventures!!!

Dare I say... Go YANKEES!!
Sure, and my response to that is
GO SOXS!!!

Speaking of teaching, I'm teaching a class at my job next week....but I don't think that will qualify me for a teacher's discount! ;)

Hope everyone enjoy's their Sunday. It's sunny here but still cold, which will not be fun for DS at baseball practice!

Hello to everyone in the room!~:wave2:

*The sun is SHINING :sunny: for another SUMMER day here!

sarahsmom73~::yes:: SEE? Even the rabid SOX fans here love the friendly "rivalry" between these two teams!
"How 'Bout them YANKEES?" :p

paras4ri~Have to agree with you! Chocolate Croissants are like LAYS chips...no one can eat just ONE!

crz4mm2~I believe you and Dismom63 are going to be at WDW/Swan/Dolphin at the SAME TIME! :hyper: How wonderful!

Cathy, the view of CRESCENT LAKE is undoubtedly a "preferred" view, of the lake area. ;) You should be VERY pleased, and I'm sure you will be upon arrival. The views "opposite" the lake, are mostly of the parking area, etc.

Dismom63~Thank you, for the kind comment. Wow...you too (like Mouseteacher) have your academic-plate FULL! Enjoy the NY Spring...the beautiful sunshine and crisp/clean air. :D

Mom Poppins~WOW...sounds as if everything went perfectly for you and your family! ::yes:: We can hardly wait to experience "Mickey's Philharmagic" 3-D show in the MK, as DD's fav. character is Donald Duck! We've heard nothing but rave reviews of this attraction.

Crystal palace...what a wonderful place to dine! I love everyplace you mentioned, and envisioned our past visits while reading your post. I was happy to read Junior was not fearful of the characters at his age. I recall seeing so many children his age crying at the sight of MM, etc. This must have rounded-out the entire trip!
Was DH happy with the suite? The kids? How were the offerings on CL? Hot apps in the afternoon?

Have fun reading (pages....), and getting readjusted to being home. So glad you had a wonderful, and memorable trip. Take care! :goodvibes:

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

Thanks for the heads up DF99...

Looks like several of us will be in the world at the same time:Pinkbounc crz4mm2, sarahsmom73, Debbie -just to name a few!!:earseek:

Dreamflight ~ I said "Hello" to Denise at the club lounge for you, it took her a minute then she remembered who I was speaking of. She says "Hello" as well. DH and the kids were happy with the suite. They are still offering a hot appetizer in the evening on club level. Everything at club level was fantastic as usual... :) I will be anxiously waiting details of the the renovated suites and club lounge area. It's hard to believe summer is around the corner and your trip is getting closer all the time. :)

 Waving to the room

DF99-- THanks!! I didn't know what to think when I saw that on the ressies.... I guess I don't need to ask for more of an upgrade then ;) I am so very excited. WIll have the digital and the laptop and will send pics from the Dolphin in just 26 days :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Dismom63, sarahsmom73 and debbie should we have a mini s/d meet?

I am very excited. Can't wait to see the florida sunshine from my dolphin room!!!!

Well my good friends from S/D...I'm off to NC for a 24hr trip to see my Step mother...

Quick update: She only manged to do 15 of her 22 Radiation treatments as her blood count dropped severly low last Thurs. So, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, no radiation and they gave her a shot (not sure what of) that was supposed to help raise her blood count...Monday's blood test also showed no improvement. By Tues am. testing showed her blood counts had dropped even more...she was hospitalized and given a blood transfusion, fluids and pain killers. Her immune system was shot...dad had to wear protective gear to go into her room. As of last night Thurs. things were OK, but no improvement in her blood. Today day calls to say she has come down with pneumonia in her right lung...so....prayers for my dad and step mom....So, headed down for a quick trip to see her this weekend.

On Topic:.....I want to be at sunny WDW laying beside the Grotto pool ordering fruity drinks....

hope you've had a safe trip, ZW {{hugs}}

is your son is feeling better, Gail?

Tell me about it!!! AAA or TravelAmerica did a Disney article a couple of months ago. This month in the letters to the editor a reader was 'ripping' them new anatomy parts for encouraging the promotion of this awful system that allowed special people to 'walk' on the rides in front of those waiting for long periods of time. The editors did a good job of responding and explaining that ANYONE could use this if they desired, but I know I had to explain both that and the e-night to other guests. Especially when e-nite was starting and they couldn't understand why we got to go on the rides and they were being turned away. Some were staying off-site but others were on-site and just had no clue.

MUCH better, thanks for asking. It's amazing the magic antibiotics and some hydration can work. He caught up on his missed schoolwork and even wanted to go to baseball practice today. Another interesting side-effect is that he's been in a great mood....which for a 12 year-old isn't regular occurance!!!! :p
We're just going to enjoy that as long as it lasts!

crz4mm2 - Just wondering when you noticed your ressie had changed? I'm still looking at our confirmation online regularly but the old "limited view" never seems to change. Maybe as we get closer to our trip! Hope you have a great one! :earsgirl:

I'm Pooped, but we're back! Thank you for all the wishes for a safe journey... they were much needed with the wacky motorists on the way home! Much reading to catch up... did see MOMPOPPINS is back! YAY! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip... will post more as I catch up...!

Gail,
I don't know when I noticed it :( I check it frequently :D
It may have always been like that, I don't know.I just noticed it last week. I was reading through the ressie on the spg site and saw that it said:

"Room Features: Traditional Non-Smoking, Resort View, Free Highspeed Internet Acces, Armoire/Tv/Stocked Minibar, Movies/Games/Video Check Out, View Of Crescent Lake. The Room Contains Iron And Ironing Board, Coffee Maker, Hair Dryer And Wall Safe."

Maybe they all say that?
Do you have SPG ?

My ressies didn't show up there for along time. I think it was because I booked through DreamRes.

Best of luck to you! I am sure looking forward to it!!!!

Glad your son is better :D

Disbug, welcome back!!!

Cathy

Mine reads:

I'm spg gold so we'll just have to wait and see what happens when we get there. :D

Can't wait to hear of all your adventures Cathy!

Good morning, all!

Well, I am having a heck of a time making a ressie for the first week of August at the Swan or Dolphin. It seems there is some big convention. The Swan is totally booked and the Dolphin does not have one of my nights at the teacher rate and wants to charge me $275 for one night. The person I spoke with yesterday said it is unlikely that teacher rate will open up for that one night. Any thoughts here, anyone? Should I wait and keep calling? I did find an Internet rate for $195 for that night but it is non-refundable and I hate to commit if there's a possibility that rate will open.

What status will I receive if I get the SPG Amex? Gold? What does that status bring?

I guess after this I'll have to ask how the point system works.

Thanks,
Joanne

Morning Joanne!
You'll get gold status with the SPG Amex but I'm not sure exactly what will give you in regards to your August trip. Good Luck!

Looks like us in the Northeast will be getting snow tomorrow! :(
Of course I just heard the forecast for Orlando is 82. :sunny:
