DS & I spent the night at Hasbro Children's Hospital here in RI. We're home now. He had a fever and stomach pain that was too similar to a problem with a blood clot he had 4 years ago to ignore. They diagnosed strep and an infected tonsil and also did all sorts of testing to ensure there's no blood clot this time. We saw several of the doctors he did in 1999 and they were wonderful in making sure all is well now. He's also going to get some followup blood work in 2 weeks.

His room was on the top floor of the hospital and the window overlooked Rt. 95 south. Last night and this morning I watched traffic heading south and kept reminding myself that in 16 weeks we'll be on that same road. Also, since we were so high I was imagining our view from the Dolphin once we arrive!

Whew...Glad to hear your DS is doing better! I'm sure you are exhausted by all the stress (spending the night in the C. Hosp., tests, etc.), and could use some sleep. At least now, the rest will be peaceful (knowing your DS will be okay). Poor little guy...all those tests can take their toll. Hope he is resting peacefully today too. At least he has the weekend to stay in bed and rest. Hope all is better soon. :

I have been up and down that "corridor" many times (I-95) over the years. What a wonderful deviation that must have been for you...to remind yourself (escape into your thoughts) of your upcoming trip down I-95 to Orlando, and WDW!

Don't you LOVE the views from UPPER floors? This is why I love being on the top floors of most any resort, especially the WDW Dolphin!

Gail~ I am so happy all turned out well for your DS and it wasn't a clot. Here's a view from the 12th floor of the Dolphin for you:

DF~ When I posted to you earlier, there was a snow shower happening outside my office window. So, your report of 80 and sunny made me give a big longing SIGH! However, spring is around the corner and it is staying lighter much later now. I dislike the early darkness we experience in winter.

Well my good friends from S/D...I'm off to NC for a 24hr trip to see my Step mother...

Quick update: She only manged to do 15 of her 22 Radiation treatments as her blood count dropped severly low last Thurs. So, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, no radiation and they gave her a shot (not sure what of) that was supposed to help raise her blood count...Monday's blood test also showed no improvement. By Tues am. testing showed her blood counts had dropped even more...she was hospitalized and given a blood transfusion, fluids and pain killers. Her immune system was shot...dad had to wear protective gear to go into her room. As of last night Thurs. things were OK, but no improvement in her blood. Today day calls to say she has come down with pneumonia in her right lung...so....prayers for my dad and step mom....So, headed down for a quick trip to see her this weekend.


On Topic:.....I want to be at sunny WDW laying beside the Grotto pool ordering fruity drinks....

Oh...did you mention S~N~O~W? Those magical little crystals & flakes which fall from the heavens? Sigh..... Wish I could see some of that kind of weather "outside my office window." We could always TRADE PLACES!!

It is SO warm outside right now...I actually took a DIP in the pool! I also placed my prayer plant on the porch...and had to "rescue" it from the sunshine (drooping a bit...that's how powerful these rays are~!).

I'm so excited! We leave for the Dolphin tomorrow. Just checked our reservations, and we've been upgraded from limited view to lake view. I'm surprised our little Preferred Plus membership accomplished that, especially during such a busy time, but certainly pleased.

Hi gang.....popping in before I glue myself to my computer and work on my certification some more. Will be so glad when this is in....only three more weeks, yikes!

I got the postcard with a pin number for $59 at Value resorts, but can't use it. I always wondered if I would ever get one of those, and now it comes when I can't go. I also wondered if you could use it to stay at another resort, like mods or deluxes for a lesser discount. Anyone know?

Hi, ozzie! Always good to hear from you. Are you doing your teacher recertification or something else? Here in MA we must renew our certificates every 5 years by doing 120 hours of professional development in our main certification + 30 hours in each additional cert. This is our year to renew by June! I got my paperwork done in January and submitted and received my new certificate ----- ready for my "proof-of-ID" for my Dolphin stay (nice way of staying on topic )

We also do accreditation every 10 years by an outside regional agency. My school has that coming on the horizon - we were initially accredited in 1996. Now we must gear up for reaccreditation in 2006 but the self study takes a year and half to prepare. It never ends!!

Hi Mouseteacher.....yes, I am doing certification, but I am going for National Board Certification, which will, if I pass, be good for 10 years instead of 5 and has some other perks with it also. It is soooooo hard. I have 4 entries and a test in June. My portfolio directions were 250 pages long. Hundreds of hours so far. Will let you know how I do, of course I won't find out until Nov. My dh says I should go to the July meet as a reward to myself, but the trip to Hawaii is my reward. Not sure if I can justify spending more $$$.

DS is home for a week on spring break. (Yeah - spring - ice cold winds and freezing rain.....hmmm........).

We were told not to bother and pay them to remove the minibar items - just remove what we needed, store it safely and put a note on the fridge so that it was not restocked and we were not billed. We only took out a couple of things - enough to get a few sodas in there.

Happy SATURDAY eve to all my sisters!~We just returned from a looong afternoon bash (party for a 4 YO sweetie), where we had a fabulous time! They are also planning "another" trip to the WDW DOLPHIN this summer. It was SO nice to chat about our summer adventures, and if I could have set-up a table I would have been in BUSINESS!
