ww52.....You can see all of Fantasmic from that room. One night dh and I took the slow boat home from Epcot....kids walked and said when they got there Fantasmic was just starting and they watched the whole thing! They thought it was cool!

Going to a grad party this afternoon....so y'all have a great Sunday.....sunny and 72' here! (but we have had a cool and wet May).

Glad to hear we'll be able to see Fantasmic.

One more question - I've read that there are no balconies on the CL floor - yet in pictures I've seen it appears there are several rooms in the middle of the top floors (which I assume includes CL) that have balconies. Does anyone know?

Thanks.

ozzie ~ your sunny and 72 is headed my way for tomorrow. :Pinkbounc

ww ~ I am not sure about that but I believe there is - we were on CL 12th floor but did not have a balcony. I am sure DF will know for sure.

First, I want to thank all the S/D experts out there who have provided this lurker with so much knowledge for my upcoming vacation. I finally have a question that I don't believe has been addressed before. Thanks to all of you I joined SPG and got the AMEX. We now have just under 17,000 pts for our 7 night trip which begins 6/22. I want to use these points toward the cash & points promo, but I also want to be assured I can get CL.

My first question is what category room do you get with c&p? Is it an automatic CL room? If so, should I go for 4 nights c&p and hope for a comp upgrade to CL for the remaining 3 nights or do the c&p for 3 nights and have enough pts for CL upgrade for the remaining 4 nights if I'm not comped?

Thanks again for all your help up to this point. I'm sure someone will have an answer/suggestion for me. I'm now getting really excited since we'll be checking in exactly 3 weeks from today!!

magiaddict, I think cash and points is for a standard room. I do know that the S/D is $60.00 and 4000 points for one night. CL is an extra 1700 points per night unless you get a comp. Anything is possible! I'll send some pixie dust! Good luck and happy planning!

Have fun at the GRAD PARTY! I'll pray for SUNSHINE :sunny: !

It takes about 5+ hours to drive to Key West from WDW. A bit longer on the return if you take Alligator Alley across the everglades...but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this route. The sights on the way out to the southern most tip of the U.S. are astounding..so PRIME THE CAMERAS! ;)

Also: Key West can be a bit on the "adventurous" (understatement) side once the sun sets. There are a lot of "criminals" whom only seem to venture out at night (pick-pockets, America's most wanted...etc.). It's better to either relax in the security of your Suite/resort, or speak with the concierge for the best/safest locations to visit in the eves. Maintain your common sense and reasoning abilities while in the Keys...and you'll be fine. We enjoy "driving" the streets and "viewing" the crowds and wild scenes from the safety of the vehicle (like a WILD SAFARI...anyone recall the old one in Jackson, New Jersey?) LOL!

Bobump...I've seen you in the past (I rarely forget names), and WELCOME you back! The advice you have received (ozzie, muffy, mousetecher) is sound and based upon experience. You'll be wise to follow these hints/tips to insure the best stay on your upcoming visit. ;)

disbug!! :sunny: :earseek: SWEET SUCCESS! Welcome to the RANKS of the graduates of "OZZIE'S ACADEMY of PICTURE POSTING"! Hooray...the visuals are always so INSPIRING and UPLIFTING. Thanks for the great pic. :)

muffy...Why don't you drive on down and soak up a day/two in the Sheraton Suites? Just place DH behind the wheel, equipped with a Map...and AWAY YOU GO! (LOL). It IS as inviting as it appears in the pics. ;)

Boy, I am happy my pic finally came through. You were right ozzie you have to keep trying! Now, what resolution would be the best for taking the pictures? I noticed when I switched resolution to take some pictures for EBAY I was not happy with the quality.

Dream Flight, you are no slouch either with ALL of the beautiful pictures you post! Did the "Dr." teach, or are you naturally gifted with this?

I wanted this picture to be my first post (my middle DD is on the left, with her cousin on right)... because it reminds me of the simple joy of just being a kid and having fun!

You are all great! Talk again soon!

Ok... so another 5 days at work and off we go to the Swan!!! I can't wait.

So now some last minute questions come to mind to ask all the Pro's here....

We've got a King Room with Balcony - resort view. I've done lots of reading of the posts... and the best I can tell that means we'll likely be on one of the "fingers" of the resort.

Are the balconies there adjacent (like every room has one) or do they alternate at all? Is there any type of privacy wall between them?

Also - any recommendations on which is better for fireworks... the Epcot view or the MGM view?

We paid for and reserved a club level room - but since my other half loves the views... I did the gentleman-ly thing and elected to request a balcony room. I'm just hoping we can get a view that will allow us to see some of the sights and possibly the fireworks.

I've heard the Swan CL rooms have nice views as well, and I'm wondering if requsting the balcony was a mistake.

Opinions... reassurances... all greatfully accepted :teeth:

Scoob

Scoob, we just came back from Swan about 2 weeks ago. We had a king room on the club level.

Originally I was debating if I wanted to be on a different floor but glad that we were on the same floor as the CL lounge. It was much easier to get in and out of there to get odds and ends. Also I have little ones and it is much easier to go back and forth.

Our room has a great view too. We can see Illuminations to our left and Tower of Terror to our right. Similar to the pictures someone else posted earlier.

We are going back in December and I know I would definitely request rooms on the 12th floor again if we have CL.

Have fun, Swan is great and please say hi to MamaT. She is the best.

Anyone have a specific room to recommend for the Club Level at the Dolphin that would give a great view especially of the Epoct fireworks?

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I am here! I have an amnio for lung maturity a week from today at 8:30 a.m., I will be 35 weeks along by then. If his lungs are ready they will induce me the sameday.....I will have another sonogram for weight check on Thursday this week to see if he has grown some over the past 2 weeks....I am still praying that all is well, they have never figured out why my fluid dropped so low and why his growth has been restricted. I have had lots of test done and so far all negative... which is good, but they still cannot figure out what happened and why things just starting getting better.. .. oh the power of prayer... Thanks for your thoughts, keep us in your prayers..... I will keep you posted.....I would love to be traveling over the summer, but it looks like the first of next year will work out best for all of us. :D

Mom Poppins ~ many prayers are still coming your way and Kirk's way. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Scoob ~ have a magical time and give us all the lowdown on your trip when you can. :)

disbug ~ your picture does capture the spirit of WDW, too!

Hi all,

We are back from our mini-vacation to San Antonio. The Westin Heavenly bed really lives up to the hype! We can't wait until our Swan visit next spring to try it again. We loved the Westin La Cantera, except that the entire club level including the lounge was closed because of some sort of maintainence. I REALLY look forward to the pampering available from the lounges so this was a blow.
On the bright side however, the hotel had upgraded us to a suite and it turned out to be the most incredible suite I had ever seen. We had one of the special "named luxury suites" with two private bedrooms, 3 baths, a full size bar w/ refrigerator, and an enormous octagonal shaped living room with sofa area and a dining area with seating for 8. There were full size sliding glass doors on 5 sides of the octogon shaped room with 5 walk out balconies. Talk about being in shock. My kids are now spoiled for life. I am trying to impress upon them that this kind of hotel experience is not the norm! So, we had a wonderful stay. I can't wait to return.

Everywhere I've read says there are no balconies on the CL floors of the Swan. I called them and they said the same thing. So I believe that, and yet I'm confused in looking at the pictures. On the top floors there appears to be balconies in the center section. I don't have authority to post attachements, else I would put one here to show what I mean. But the best example is on disneypix, in the resort section, Swan and Dolphin. The last picture on the second to last row shows balconies in the center of the top floors, which I assume includes the CL floors. I'm confused. Can anyone help?

oops, I tried to post a picture but it was TOOOO big, LOL

gives me an excuse to check my countdown clock :)

I leave in 2 days for my stay at Coronado Springs Resort.

I just returned from a stay at the Westin in Times Square. The hotle was overbooked and we checked in at 11:30pm. There were no 2 double bed rooms left (even though that is what I reserved). We were put in Club Level in a King bed. My daughter slept on the floor. They said they were sending up a roll away, but it never came. I called repeatedly and they kept saying it was coming right up. On the 2nd day they finally admitted they were out of them.:(

It is a beautiful hotel. I spoke to someone on my checkout day and they took one night off of the bill.;) we were only there 2 nights.

I am looking forward to my trip but I am REALLY looking forward to my upcoming stay at the Dolphin!!!:teeth:

oh Kelli.....

please, please, please post about CKU when you get back, I am so jealous that you get to go!
